Angel Eyes: which?

I really like the angel eye modification and have seen a few people do it on their TSX's on this forum. Now my question is which set is better?

Oracle Halo Kit

Predator Thinline Acura TSX Angel Eyes

The only real difference I see is that the first of the two can equip all three lights in each headlight with the Halo while the latter only does two.

What do the rest of you think?

I posted a thread on this
https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/h-town-meet-41802/

I am sending the medium size ring back to them for a credit, so if you order the ones from AAC just ask him to either send you two or to make sure that the ring will actually fit

yeah, both will only offer you two working rings.
the oracle just throws in an extra ring....
that doesn't fit anywhere.
or so seems to be the case.

I'll probably get a set of these things too.
let us know your final decision!

Well, in this thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41802
These headlamps are being used:

I plan on using these headlamps:

Which are slightly different.

Do you think all 3 might work on the new ones?

Abrams, I had contacted the company and asked a few questions.

My comments/questions:
"I was reading through an Acura TSX Forum that I am apart of and came across your Acura TSX ORACLE Halo Kit. I have a few questions. (1) Does this kit fit for any model year? (2) My friend had this problem with her BMW 3 series when she had her angel eyes brightened (I am assuming this is by increasing the heat?), eventually they had melted and were replaced. What temperature is recommended for this Halo Kit? (3) Lastly, On the forum mentioned previously, The poster had written the following:
"Turns out that the Small Sized Rings were way to big for the middle light (turn signal) and the Meduim Sized Rings were way too big for the outer light (Headlight)
The Large Rings fit just fine around the highbeam light."
Why was this so? Should i be expecting the same to happen for my Acura TSX if I were to purchase your product?"
Their Answer:
"Our rings are made of Cold Cathodes, they generate NO heat whatsoever. Yes, they fit all years TSX.

The rings will fit exactly as pictured on our website. The kit this person describes does not sound like it came from us."
Sounds like they possibly do not even know their own product...In any case I think I will go through with the mod. Unfortunately I cannot do the work myself on campus. Any ideas on how much it would cost to have it done professionally?

Well, I sent an e-mail to Steve, their tech guy.
I sent him links of the install thread with the 3rd ring not fitting.
I explained the situation in detail and asked him to tell
me what the deal was basically.
I'll let you know what he says.

They'll install them if you send the lights in and pay for shipping both
ways, not sure how much they charge though.
The video they put up on You Tube makes it look ridiculously simple.

Okay, update time.

First off, where did I find those headlamps:
After reading this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41918

I ordered the lights here:
http://yhst-1408381693991.stores.yah...aceucl7ts.html

But I got a set right before they sold out.

Lucky Me!

Okay, now on to what they had to say:

This is their response:

We have been in contact with that person and the small rings he was sent were the wrong diameter due to an error on our part. The problem has been corrected and the rings fit exactly as pictured on our site.

-Justin M. Hartenstein
AAC Enterprises LLC.
1(800)407-5776
www.AACstyle.com
300 Jefferson Hwy. STE#805
New Orleans, LA 70121

So they say that the 3 ring will work perfectly.
I showed them the new JDM lights I'll be using and they said it would
fit just right, no issues, all 3 lights, for sure.

Now, how much do they charge to do the work in their shop if
you ship the lights to and from there?

don't know yet, awaiting that response now.

Sounds good. With that response, I am only more so considering this mod. It is a pretty high likelihood actually. However, I like the headlamps, I may order a pair and have the Oracles fitted to them.

Send me some pics after you fit them

I would fit them on the OEM lights, but on the JDM ones....?

I'd feel better sending them in to those guys to have them fitted.
If they offered some sort of guarantee that is.

We'll see what they have to say. I'm all over it now that I know
that all three rings will work properly just like on their site.

If I do end up doing it myself, I'll surely do a write up and pictorial on it.

AAC sells their kits on ebay for less money, and they are obv the same exact thing as their main site. Their company is actually featured in an ebay article somewhere, and has a very good reputation.

I spoke with them as well, and they explained they sent me the wrong sized ones as well, and they are giving me a credit when they get the rings back.

I just hope that they are not just saying that they sent the wrong one by accident, as the bag it came in was marked "Medium Halos '04-06 TSX"

Either way i would go with the ones from AAC, as they are really good quality product. My friend has an IS300 and tried the ones from umnitza and they broke when he took them out of the package, he then got in contact with aac and got headlights directly from them, and they blacked out the housings and put in aac decals directly inside the headlights. I dont remember how much he paid but they looked really really clean.

ORACLE HALO Kits Include the Following:

(2) 8000K CCFL Hi Beam Halo Rings
(2) 8000K CCFL Lo Beam Halo Rings
(2) 8000K CCFL Fog Beam Halo Rings

I wonder if the fog beam halos are the problem, as the middle lights are blinker signals and not fogs? Could just be some little confusion

AAC specializes or did specialize in lexus when they first started and my friend met the owner on the lexus forums. AAC has specific light kits at their store already made, espically for lexus. Basically he ordered aftermarket headlights directly from him that came with the halos instead of getting them from another company and sending them out. If you call them and ask you might just be able to have lights shipped to them so they can just work on them directly, i am not sure though

I just posted this in another thread as well but,
If ANYONE knows someone who specializes in plastic molidngs, i have a spare set of lights that i would be willing to open up and take out the yellow housing to send out. I have been looking for a little bit and one of my friends thinks he might have found a place in south jersey but i havent heard from him so that probably will never happen.
There was a thread about this a while back but i dont know whatever happend to the r & d of that project. I know its a longshot but it would be worth it, as there could be numerous different colors & styles.

There is a great write up on the cough cough "other boards" that is pretty much perfect.

Honestly I know you how you feel about the jdm lights, believe me.
I had to order three lights because one came broken and i didnt find out in the 15 day alloted return time. The company wouldnt accept a return, so i had to order another light from another company. MY POINT IS that as long as you follow instructions and know how to handle electronics it is not that dangerous, just long. As long as you are careful and watch what you are doing everything will be fine

I remember a year or two when a few people were posting threads on their Umnitza installs. Umnitza had just come out for the TSX and were the only Angel/Demon eye option for our car at the time. The finished product looked alright but not fantastic - the halos were not terrifically formed when lit, if I recall correctly. The kits are expensive, and pretty much everyone who bought one reported cracking at least one halo during the install, and having to wait to receive a new one.

Abrams recent thread about the Oracle set really looks promising. They look phenomenal installed, are cheaper than Umnitza (if I recall correctly), and are apparently more durable because he didn't break anything.

If I ever do an Angel Eye install it will be with the Oracles.

Okay, new update.

Here's their response on installation:

Hello [MMsTSX], we charge $175 for professional installtion which includes a lifetime warranty on all parts and labor. Turnaround is 2-3 days and the lights will be shipped back as "plug and play" units, no additional wiring on your part.

So there it is.
If you want them to do it for you, you send them there and pay to have them
shipped back (by including a return shipping label) with a payment of $175.
You will then have a LIFETIME WARRANTY on both the parts and the labor if
anything ever goes wrong with them.

They also guarantee that all 3 rings will fit perfectly and work perfectly.
I'm going to go ahead and do it and see what happens.
When my JDM lights arrive, I'll take pictures of them then package them up.
I'll send them to AAC Enterprises in New Orleans and have them install their
3-ring Oracle Demon Eyes kit on them.

Then as soon as they come back I'll install them on my car.

$175 is reasonable to me for a lifetime warranty on parts and most importantly
on labor.
I'll keep my set of stock headlamps, smoke them some, and have them as back up
in case anything goes wrong with the new JDM + Oracle lights.

Okay, one more update:

Justin at AAC got back to me.

I told him I wanted to buy from eBay because it's cheaper.
Plus I told him I wanted to send my new JDM lights into him to
have the "professional installation" done.
I asked how to do it all and whatnot, here is his response:

"Hello, if you just want to send in the lights with a check for $374 total we can do it that way to avoid any confusion between eBay shipping and whatnot. Our address is below and you can make the check to AAC.

When you ship have UPS or FedEx include a pre-paid return shipping label so as soon as we complete the installation we can ship back rather than contacting you to collect shipping payment. "

So when my JDM light arrive (probably tomorrow or early next week) I will open
the box and take some pictures. I'll start a new thread about this whole AAC
transaction as well.
Then I'll repack the lights well and send them off to AAC with a payment of $374.
When they come back, I'll take more pictures of them, then I'll install them.
Then I'll take some pictures of them installed and give my opinion about the
whole transaction with AAC.

From what they say, it looks promising. We'll see though.

I'm not too sure about that.
I've been thinking about it.
but with no pictures showing the difference....

I'm not sure.

I just might though, if I could see some pictures of lights
before and after having the housings painted black, I would be able
to make a decision.

What do you suggest?
I want it to look the best it can, of course.

I asked them how much painting would cost for the housings.
This is what they said:

"what color do you want them painted? Do you have the paint code?

Painting is $149-$165 depending on the type of paint (metallic, pearl, tri-coat, etc.)"

Sounds a bit pricey, I'd have to have a better idea if it's really worth it or not.

Anyone have any pics of housings that have been painted?

Here is an RSX headlight that has been blacked out.
I was going to do it but kind of forgot once I opened up the light and got going with the halos.

Just watched the video.

The black painted housing does look pretty good, however I too would like to see some pictures of a black housing painted JDM headlamp.
