An Alarming Siutation

I was just returning to my TSX at the local mall, got in as I normally do, and next thing you know the alarm was going off!

I tried pressing a variety of buttons on the remote and starting the car, but it wouldn't shut up. Eventually I pressed the unluck button on the remote, and dignity was restored.

I know I didn't press the panic button, and the fact that I had to press the unlock button to silence the alarm leads me to believe that the TSX thought I was breaking in.

Has anybody else had this happen to them or am I unusually "skilled"?

Thanks,

Scott

Sometimes when I'm detailing my car the car will automatically lock itself. If the windows are down I'll reach in to unlock the door and the alarm goes off. Scares the crap out of me, but glad it works. Never had a problem disarming it though. I've only turned it off by using the unlock button on the remote, never tried starting or anything. Maybe it's supposed to work that way?

If the alarm is engaged and you open the doors, it will sound.

I just got my TSX last week and I already have 2 alarm incidents so far.

1st one happened on the 1st day. I opened the door, got in the car, and lock the doors. I was just checking out the interior. When I pressed the unlock the button, the freaking alarm went off. It took me 10 secs to figure out I had to press the unlock button on my remote.

2nd incident happened on Friday. After I filled up gas in my car, I got in the car and put my key in, and started the engine. The alarm went off for no reason. I swear I did not accidently hit the panic button on the remote. Oh, it only took me 2 secs to turn off the alarm.

leonvsclon,

Glad to hear I'm not that special! I now know to hit the unlock on the remote, so I won't be quite as embarrased next time.

When I had just gotten my TSX, I tried opening the trunk with the fob in my pocket and accidentally hit the panic button instead. It took me a few seconds to figure what had happened and how to fix it. I figured 4 buttons, one of them had to shut it off...
