Air in hydrolic clutch line?
Air in hydrolic clutch line?
Hi,
I just replaced my Clutch Master and Slave cylinders, now when i put my car in first and second gear it slightly grinds (50% of the time)...Could it be air in the line? It didn't do this before. To bleed it I kind of pumped it until i saw fluid coming out of slave's valve and that was it. Any suggestions? Thx!

There is a possibility that there is still air in the system, but if you are feeling the correct amount of resistance then it probably isn't the case.
Part of the master cylinder is a threaded rod and a bracket that attaches to the clutch petal. You may need a slight adjustment on this assembly in order to allow a larger volume of fluid to flow to the slave cylinder.

Thanks Mskierki. Are there any instructions how to adjust that threaded rod on MC? I tried to turn the nut on it and couldn't move it...i didn't want to brake anything. Resistance on the clutch pedal is normal by the way...
Typically the rod does not have to be adjusted, it is adjusted to spec from the factory ( or aftermarket company ). If you pumped the pedal with no helper to bleed the sysem, it probably has air in it. Gravity bleeding the clutch system is really easy. Fill the master with fluid, open the bleeder on the slave and just let it drip. Let about 2 or 3 resevoirs full drip through the system. Just make sure you don't let the resevoir empty.
