after 1 year... I HATE THIS CAR!

snap! crackle! pop!
noise inside the car is driving me nuts!
first door panel(door lock window controller box) rattled, and sunroof squeaked
took it in for service, not only did they not fix the door panel, it's gone worse
now my front door windows, both sides, are making cracking noise
Door panels still rattles, even worse than before

my old 7 years old integra, 4 years old RSX made less noise than this one year old TSX, infact I never heard any noise from 4 year old RSX

every minute in this car is a torture, every cracking squeaks are really getting on my nerve
drive over speed bump, car sounds like whole chassi is bending over backwards

I'm taking it back to service this week
I should've waited and saved up more money for something else

Relax man your intergra and rsx had less stuff than the tsx has. My car was in a rear end accident, and it cost 7000, for like seatbelt sensors, tensors, dash, airbag sensors, and so on.

You have to understand dealerships don't do anything for your car, all they should attempt to do is warrenty work, and even that they fail doing.

Sometimes I have the same feeling too, my 93 civic or the 95 integra that I had didn't have those squeaks..

but, mostly it's because those cars are far more noisy to begin with, all the engine noise, wind noise, etc. In the TSX, I notice the road noise more than anything esp after I dynamatted all the doors and trunk.

I think for your particular rattles, a little bit of silicone spray will solve the problem.

how often do you listen to your cd's or radio? well if you detest it so much, trade it in and get a TL or another car brand.

If it's annoying you to the very bit for you to detest the car you paid 30k for, either take it to a different dealership to see if they can fix it, or do it yourself. Either you quit whining and do it yourself, or sell it, and go buy yourself another car.

I know a car reviewer who tested an IS350 with a loud rattle.

It sounds like you got a car with problems. That sucks.

Trade it when you can.

Yep, I hear them too. And Sunnyside in NH tried to charge me $47 for the door rattle, they actually said that they contacted Acura and Acura claimed it was "expected behavior." They have a policy when they charge you if they do not find a problem or Acura claims it is the way it was designed. My car is still under warranty. I went home and found the service bulletin for the door rattle from 2004 and they gave me back my money. Excellent dealership, but whoever thought of this policy should reconsider. Anyway there are way to many rattles in this car for the money. I still love it but wouldn't purchase another one because of them. This is a legit complaint.

I know this may not help much, but having had the TSX for 3 years now I can tell you that in my case most of the noises have now gone away (including the infamous windshield/pillar craking). I would suggest another dealer for service and do keep up on the SB's.

I've heard Sunnyside SUCKS. I used Acura of Boston (Recommended) and Acura of Peabody (decent...)

To the OP, if you hate the car that much, ditch it...

I don't think there's anything wrong with your post. you don't hate every tsx, you hate your tsx and you gave your reasons. I'm sorry this has happened, and I'd stand with the others who suggest you sell. Be glad you purchased a car with great resale value. Better luck next time!

When you complained to the dealer, they took the whole panel off, that's why it sounds worse now. To fix it, all you needed to do was to pull up the switch and the surrounding plastic trim, and then disconnecting the wiring. The switch is secured to the trim by 2 screws. Take the screws out, and then put a thin layer of masking tape around the part of the switch that comes into contact with the trim. This makes it fit more tightly. Put the 2 screws back on, plug the wiring in and press the trim back into place. Voila!

sorry to hear about your rattle-box, I had an 05 civic ex-se, 5spd, that had alot of problems including alot of rattles and parts that fell off that had to be either replaced or fixed. I finally got to the point I hated that car so I sold it. great resale. my 06 tsx that is 8 months old, bought new, with 19,000+ miles just starting getting a slight rattle. I am taking it to the dealer for service on Thursday-oil change, tire rotation, cracked foglights replaced free-I will ask them about my new rattle-hopefully it will not get any worse.

Is it quieter after it has rained? If so, maybe you just need some silicone lubricant along the plastic/rubber seams that are rubbing together.

As an aside, my second Jetta did this too, after the first one was noise-free. However, the first one was a mechanical lemon, while the only problem I had in the second one in 5 years of ownership was the creaking. After a few years of owning a mechanically sound car, I learned to take it in stride.

If you aint satisfied, get rid of it. I'm surprised how loud the locks and tires are. But I don't have squeaking noises, that would drive me nuts too.

I just bought an 04 with 50k on the odo, and I can say that it doesn't make a peep even when going over 80 miles per hour on Michigan roads...

Did I just get lucky?

I feel for you, man. My RSX S had the dreaded windshield creak. The TSX doesn't make even one unwelcome sound. Make 'em fix it!!

I agree with you (yes, I agree) that Lexuses seem to be a step up in quality.

I might get for this, but this is my impression (based on what I've heard as well and my test drive in an IS.)

I misunderstood your intent, sorry. I just wanted to let the OP know that it can happen in any car, even a Lexus, and that it is not necessarily a representation of the entire model.

My RSX's dash would rattle against the windshield when it was really cold out (30F or below), but went away a few minutes after I turned the heat on. Instead of whining about it on the Internet like so many other people do, I fixed it with about 2 minutes of work and a small piece of foam.

My 95 GSR had a pretty bad hatch rattle. I fixed that too, see above.

I've had 24 other cars besides my TSX, including a BMW, and all of them developed small annoyances over time. You can bitch about it, or you can do something about it.

Too bad; I guess even buying a Honda is no defense against the occasional lemon. May be time to eat the loss and buy another car.
