Advice: Custom Paint! Can do ANYTHING! Ideas?

As the title says, I am up for a custom paint job. The painter has won awards for his jobs locally, and I've seen his ride, it is worthy. He offered to give me a paint job for my '06 TSX carbon grey. I'll have to upload some more recent pics if my car. Tinted windows/tails/headlamps(painted), chrome pillars, widow visors kind of theme.

The thing is, he said I can do anything! Now that's a bit overwhelming for my little brain so I'm looking for any ideas.
Flakes, pearls, chameleon, flats, 2 tone, 3 tone, glow in the dark lol. He said pretty much anything, I just have to buy the paint at his discount and get his name out there.
Please, you guys are all brlliant, just throw out any crazy ideas and pics you think would be interesting!

My initial idea is a simple one, I wanted a deep Metallic red (habanero red?) pearl/flakes with some sort of black shadow/fading accents.

Also if you can think of things I need to be wary about when getting a new paint job and pros/cons of diff types (chipping, durability), how many coats/clear coats should be applied, that would be much appreciated!

Anything goes!

Thanks!

If I had the chance to repaint my TSX, I'd paint it Porsche Macadamia Metallic:

Yeah. I might be crazy.

One solid color. No two-tone, no chameleon, none of that ricer BS. The only time stuff like that works is on a very heavily modified car, which yours does not appear to be.

Some of my favorite colors...

Honda-
Electron Blue Pearl (http://www.jspeed.org/members/audrey-civic-00.jpg)
Blaze Orange Metallic (http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0213_large.jpg)
Championship White (http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0010_large.jpg)

BMW-
Space Gray (http://images7.ecarlist.com/photos/1...PD05948_51.jpg)
Alpine White (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3140/...014281cb12.jpg)
Estoril Blue (http://www.m5board.com/photopost/data/513/15397bak.JPG)
Any of those would look pretty sweet on the TSX... Blaze Orange Metallic may be hard to pull off stock, though.

Lol no ricer for me. I've designed a concept in Forza 3. It uses a deep metallic red. And I have subtle shadowing just to keep it from being to shiney and glamorous lol. Of course FM3 doesn't have the TSX nor the euro R, so I designed it onto another common stock 4 door sedan. Volvo. I imagine anything would look good on an R8 class vehicle. I don't pretend to imagine that the paint jon would loom exactly the same in real life. But I have to say that program is amazing they stuck in there!

I hate Pearl paint, it's too delicate. If given the choice, I'd choose a metallic base. Ferrari Silverstone would be my color choice. BMW's Space Grey is nice too.

Lol that's the same tsx I found too. But I don't want the two tone and don't have the CF hood. I believe I'm going with the metallic base paint. I just need to sign on with a PC instead of my iPhone sometime in my life to upload pics.

I have always been a fan of Honda's electron blue, the BMW interlagos blue and the Lexus ultrasonic blue. Championship white would be a great choice as well. My choices are hardly creative or a showcase for an expert painter though.

I haven't painted the car unfortunately. Couldn't get it passed the wife ok stage lol. It's alright, looking further into the process, there seemed to be a lot that could cause problems. If he didn't do door jams, edges etc properly, there would be flaking etc. Also, I couldn't lose my car for that long, nor would I want to have it gone for that long. He would work on it only after hours for a few hours. That would take a while. I've continued onto other mods for now. Just made some Illuminated Door Sills. Check em out if you like https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/illuminated-door-sills-finished-781589/
