Acura's vs Nissan's

Nissan's Sentra SE-R, Altima 3.5SE, and Maxima or Acura's RSX type-S, TSX, and the TL?

Yes, I am quite Acura-biased, but regardless, I would choose Acura's lineup over the Nissan's. (Better style, quality, and ride)

SE-R, RSX-S

ALTIMA, TSX

MAXIMA, TL

All three comparisons have similar price ranges and believe are targeted towards the same group of people.

So which lineup would you choose and why?

All 3 Acuras, man. Better fit and finish, quality materials and NO torque steer.

Dude man, of course Acura will be chosen since most of us are TSX owners.

Also, you can't compare Acura vs. Nissan, it should be more

Acura vs. Infiniti and Honda vs. Nissan.

It's like this for me

FX 35/45 > MDX

G35 coupe > RSX

Right now, Acura is beating Infiniti, but in about 05 or 06, I think Infiniti will be start beating Acura in sales with their release of the new redesigned M35/45. That thing is sweet looking, along with the FX35/45, QX56, and G35 coupe/sedan, Acura better watch out.

because there's no torque to speak of , and in the model that does have some torque (TL), torque steer like in the nissans is a major complaint..but Nissan redeems themselves by routing the torque/hp properly in the G35 via the rear wheels to get rid of the torque steer.

but out of that list, i would choose the acura lineup b/c its grossly unfair to be comparing acura's to nissans...if it was acura to infiniti, the results would be different.

Blah.

The SE-R is in the Si price range, and I'd rather take the SE-R over the Si.

The Altima has moved up into the Accord league. Kind of a toss up, since the Altima has lost it's edge, IMO. And the Accord just kind of fell flat when it was introduced. We'll see in a couple months when the Altima SE-R comes out, and see what hybrid or whatever other techno stuff Honda plans to spice up the Accord line.

The Maxima, has created it's own niche
that no one really knows why this model still exists.

A bit of apples - oranges comparison but I lean towards the Acura line up.

I just think its hilarious that the new maxima is about as much $$ as the new TL, and theres absolutly no comparason when it comes to the quality, value, etc. that the Acura has over it. Question is, why would you buy a Maxima when you could easily have a G35 or a TL for the same price??

Why does anyone get a BMW325 instead of those two cars? If it sells, car makers will keep selling it wheather it makes sense or not.

Well I think I have an opinion on this because I just traded my 2002 SE-R Spec-V for my TSX. Let’s put it this way, it was the biggest piece of horse dung I have ever owned! Period. I can not tell you how many problems I had with it and the countless recalls just drove me nuts. I thought maybe I got a lemon but talking with other guys from the local car club and online made me realize they were having similar issues. I was an Acura man before I bought the Nissan. But when I traded in my Integra the TSX wasn’t available and the TL was too big. So Acura lost me due to the fact they had no car for me to step up to. But I am back and I highly doubt I will leave Honda ever again. Yes you may pay a bit more and it may not be as flashy or fast. But not having to bring your car in every second week is worth it. I can deal with rattles, but when a brand new car won’t start the morning you have to bring your wife to the hospital cause she is in labor is just wrong.

Sorry for the bitter tone but man I hate Nissan.

get an infiniti then, which ranks consistantly as high if not higher than acura for initial quality and reliability

Yes I agree but the G20 was on it's way out and 140hp didn't tickle my fancy. The G35 had just arrived and was mucho $$

There really is nothing in Nissan's lineup that intrests me. Big engines in cars with tupperware interiors do nothing for me. The G35C isn't too bad but there are better cars out there.

Call me crazy, but I compared Honda's (Civics, Accords, s2k's) to Mazda's (3, 6, rx8)

Anyways, enlighten me, what cars from acura can possibly be compared with a car from inifiniti? Their lineup is totally different.

Well I think the TL is in the same class as the G35 and the new RL will go head to head with the M45.

G20t (no longer made) = Integra 4 Door/ TSX
I35/G35 = 3.2 TL
M45 = RL

Correct me if I'm wrong

I35 is on its way out and while on paper it looks close the G35 and new TL are bit different. I would compare the M35X (the AWD version) to the RL not the M45. Infiniti does not have a small sedan to compete with 325, A4, RSX, C class, IS300 (all compacts) although price wise the G35 fits.

As far as the Maxima being the same price as a TL - probably not.

You can actually negotiate on a Maxima - of which I had the opportunity to buy a loaded Maxima for $28,000 (everything except Nav) - so quite a bit less than the TL.

While I did just plunk down some coin for a TSX, the Maxima was a close second simply because it is a "rare" car like the TSX (dont see many), it looks rich, but still has a mean streak to it, comes with some nice 18's and it can move.

Either way, I dont think you could go wrong with any of those cars given your price range and design opinions. To me, Maxima is the rare blend of pure performance and practicality (4 doors) for under $30k - albeit, I chose the TSX simply because I didnt feel the Maxima offered the same value as the TSx, nor did I need all the beef it provides in HP.

I can't imagine why people would compare the Nissan line up with the Acura line up, it's like comparing Honda with Infiniti. Acura would most definitely beat the Nissan in reliability, handling and luxury (both hands down) aspects of the car, the only thing that Nissan may have slight advantage over the Acura is in engine power. But hey, if I care so damn much purely over engine power, I'd get myself a Ford Mustang or a Subaru WRX, but y'all know what those cars lack... the luxury and the prestige. That's my 2 cent.

Is this the first time the votes were so one-sided?

If so, this poll sucks,

I would vote for Maxima, eh, but my mouse refused to click.

Owned a 99 Maxima. Not a bad car actually. Regarding new Maxima, what? There is a new Maxima?
