Acura Website Problems

Whenever I go to Acura's website, it won't load! I have given every permission needed to do so.

Is this a problem unique to me? Any suggestions?

Let me guess, you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer? I can help you, but I'll need a few more details about your system...

Operating system
Browser and version
RAM
processor speed
anti-virus software used

Windows XP SP2
Explorer 6.0
1 Gig RAM
Athlon 2500+
Outpost Firewall
FRISK AV (F-Prot)

Also have MS Beta Anti-Spyware and Prevex Pro. Both monitor changes to system, etc. and I have allowed Acura site access for each as well as pop-ups.

False Alarm. I figured it out. Apparently, I blocked some advertiser that camps there.

Thanks for concern.

I -was- beginning to wonder if some virus was at work, but thank God no.

Yea
The only time i MUST use IE is when there are certain websites that actually detect the browser that you are using and wont even let me in unless i use IE. Then there are the websites that will let me in but it wont look right or wont load properly.

But 98% of eveyrthing is ok.

FireFox is a standards compliant browser. Any website that is properly coded to modern standards will work with it. If you visit a website that doesn't work with FireFox, e mail the webmaster and let him know you want a change or you won't come back to his website. That usually elicits a quick response from the webmaster. Internet Explorer is no longer a standards compliant browser, Microsoft has done so little development on it in the last few years that it's one of the slowest, the least secure, and most counterintuitive browsers out there.

I can't get Firefox to load the Acura website. IE tab extension crashes the whole thing. Have to use IE. Go figure.

Works for me. It has to be that tab extension that's crashing it. FF extensions are done by third parties, so your milage with them may vary.

They had some problems though I think this past weekend. I couldn't get the page to load with FireFox or IE.

It would just stick at 25% after clicking, "Launch Acura.com"

I've tried everything I know how, but I -still- can't get the site to load and have given up.

Have not had problems like this elsewhere, or with Java, etc.

Sigh.

I does come up on my wife's hand-me-down Pentium. Yes, you read that right.
