acura tsx CAI noise?
so i was talking with a friend and he suggested a CAI as the cheapest hp per $ mod that i could do.
i'm fairly happy with my tsx (which i've had for like 2 weeks) , but i suppose it could be nice if it had a little bit more hp if it was cheap.
anyways he says a CAI would be good bang for the buck, but i wouldn't want to sacrifice noise for this (my last car was pretty noisy and i hated it, so yeah its an issue for me).
so for those of you who have a CAI , is it significantly louder? my friend said it wasnt, but he has a modded up wrx as his daily driver, and i am not sure his opinion really counts when it comes to noise.

Yes itz loud. At 4500 RPM and above, you can definitely hear it.
If you don't want noise, get the Comptech Icebox. It doesn't have as much gains, but it's a much closer to stock sounding.

It is a ton louder then stock above 4500-5000rpms. When I was tearing up some back roads, buddies said they could hear my car from well over 1/2 a mile away. One guy I ran in a Spec-V said that my intake was probably one of the loudest he's heard.

hmm ok, i guess no cold air intake for me.
i mean if i am driving down the freeway and it is annoying it probably isnt worth it, anyone have any suggestions as to a mod that will give me more power but not more noise? does the ice box really do anything?

Someone stole "My Garage"
IMO you only really hear a noticeable change in noise when at 3/4 to full throttle above 4500 rpm.
Under 4500rpm, or at ANYTIME during basic freeway cruising, I don't notice any difference w/ the Injen CAI in my car (in terms of noise).

Get a Hondata reflash, comptech icebox, and a header (DC or Comptech) if you want power without noise
