Acura new owner clinic

I don't know if your dealership does this or not, but the dealership that I bought my car at offers an Acura new owner clinic. I've never heard this done before and was not done at my previous Acura dealership where I bought my other Acura, but it's being offered at the dealership where I just bought my TSX. It's a great experience and great service from the dealership. They just cover the basics about Acura cars in a conference environment and answer any questions you may have about your car. They even feed you, wash your car, and give you free goody bag just for attending this free event! If your dealership doesn't offer this service, ask for it! to Thomas Acura in LA, CA

They offer it at Curry in NY too, the dealer briefly mentioned it. I'm not sure of the details.

This sounds like something all Acura dealerships in metropolitan areas should offer...

Yeah!! When I got my car at Thomas Acura in Covina, they told me to attend that same new owner clinic. I think it is something that they do on their own.

Doesn't anyone just read the f*&#ing manual anymore?

Good Throne-Room reading for the first week of ownership.

Unfortunately, 90% of new car owners have probably never opened their owners manuals...

Thats why I didn't go. I figured there isn't much they can tell me that I won't learn about on my own. But it probably never hurts to go.

I just got back from my new owner clinic, and I thought it was very informative and worthwhile. They had every type of Acura up so you could walk underneath and check everything out. I was the only TSX owner there, so he told me what every single piece on that car is for. He also told me, which I didn't know, is that the RSX and TSX are the only Acuras actually made in Japan, and that the TSX is vastly superior to any Acura made in his opinion. He has been an Acura mechanic for 30 years. Maybe he's full of crap, but it made me feel pretty good about my purchase. Anyone offered the clinic should check it out. At the very least, there's free food and drinks, and I got to take home a free car care kit and a bottle of wine!

scherrma..it's great to see a fellow brew town TSX owner on the forum. I am assuming it is Acura of Brookfield you are talking about? The service director there is great and knows everyhting there is to know about Acuras. I got my 01 GSR from him directly-avoiding the annoying salesman jibberish.

I unfortunatly did not attend the clinic when I bought my 04. Maybe had the handed out 8 pks of Guinness I would have.

I admit that I didn't read my manual until 6 weeks after I took possession. I did however know almost everything it said because of the research I did before buying the car. Thanks Acurazine.com

[QUOTE=scherrma].... He has been an Acura mechanic for 30 years. ./QUOTE]

That's one hell of an accomplishment given that Acura has only been in existence for 19 years!?!

Yeah man! That is crazy. He created 11 years of experience out of nothing. Simply amazing.

Whoops, my bad. I do remember now that the service director said our mechanic had previously worked for Chrysler. What he said was that they'd been working together for 30 years. Man, nothin gets by you guys...
