Acura wants to distance itself from Honda Division. The company is building a separate design center for the brand in Torrance, Calif. The marque wants to create an image similar to that of BMW, stressing performance and technology.
RSX: The entry-level model is being killed at the end of the 2006 model year because the division is beginning to move farther upscale.
TSX: The 2009 version is slated for a redesign. Sources expect it will be equipped with a turbo engine and all-wheel drive. A convertible model may be in the works.
TL: The TL will be freshened for the 2007 model year. A redesign is scheduled for the 2009 model year, when awd will be available.
RL: U.S. dealers will be able to order a decontented model for the 2007 model year. Consumers balked at paying nearly $50,000 for a loaded awd model powered by a 290-hp, 3.5-liter V-6.
The specific equipment has yet to be announced. Dealers in Hawaii and Alaska already offer decontented models without such standard equipment as navigation systems and satellite radio.
The RL will be redesigned for the 2010 or 2011 model year. It may be equipped with a V-10 and share a chassis with the redesigned NSX.
NSX: The redesigned sports car is expected to hit the market for the 2008 or 2009 model year. Acura has said it will be powered by a V-10 engine, but there have been few other details. Sources say the company is testing front- and midengine configurations. A hybrid version may be offered.
RDX: Acura's new small crossover went on sale this month. This is Acura's first vehicle with a turbocharged engine. The 240-hp, 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine produces 260 pounds-feet of torque. Standard equipment includes the RL's high-tech awd system and 18-inch wheels.
The interior can accommodate two 19-inch bicycles sitting upright. A 300-watt, seven-speaker audio system with a six-disc CD changer and XM satellite radio is standard.
MDX: Acura's MDX crossover is redesigned for the 2007 model year. It is wider and longer than the current model and will offer more cargo space. It also will sit lower.
The six-cylinder engine will produce close to 300 hp, up from 253. Displacement may be increased to 3.8 liters vs. the current 3.5.

So, another 2 years until our 1st gen TSX will be obsolete, that's pretty good cycle (5 yrs) for the first gen TSX from Apr. 2003 until Apr. 2008/Fall 2008?

Also, the the 2006 model is actually the 5th model since it was the 2002 (honda accord - europe) that marked the birth for the TSX.
This sucks.....I was so looking forward for the 2008...now, I might as well trade in my 05 and get an 06 b/c I WANT bluetooth!!

It seemed kinda odd to totally redesign the “North American” TSX after 4 model years. Acura usually updates mid-model year the interior/exterior features. Then they show is a bump in HP to give us a taste of new power for the next gen. I’m expecting a 08 (current MY design) Type-S TSX with 225-235 HP from the 2.4L to help close the power gap with the all new 09 turbo TSX.
This is great news to some/most TSX owners; we are going to enjoy a very high owner’s appreciation rating, higher resell, more aftermarket products, and increased reliability rating.

I wonder if the redesigned Accord in Europe and Japan will be 2009 also or 2008... if it's 2009 these countries will have to wait a VERY long time for a new model, it doesn't make much sense for a more mainstream car.

She said: it's GINORMOUS!

the TL, RDX, and new MDX dash looks too busy. leave our current interior alone while you upgrade the electronics - i can work the touchscreen and VR just fine. we don't want the I-Drive wannabe...are you listening honda??
my first mod will be to remove that plastic cover on the IC, dremel out the I-VTEC logo and slap it on the IC...ahh, more cooling!

Thats a real good idea. Just wait 3 or 4 more years to try and get people interested in the RL.

Downside? No touchscreen on the RDX.

Found something at: http://paultan.org/archives/2005/10/...rts-4-concept/
Couldn't you picture this as an update to the TSX??
Its styling flows more consistently with the TSX and international Honda Accord rather than the so-called North American style Accord.

For some reason, I cannot edit my messages even though I have waited more than 5 minutes. Now, the Edit button is gone, so I'll simply add yet a third message...(sorry for the clutter):
More on the Sports 4 Concept, which would conceivably might be the 2009 TSX. It's also conceivable that the new 2009 TSX would be introduced in 2008.
