Took my TSX in for it's 5K service yesterday... I asked them to check out this whining noise I was hearing. 2 Hours later, they tell me I need a new transmission and they have to give me a loaner car. They say it should be done in about a week.

I had been hearing the noise get worse for about a month... it was most noticable around 60 mph and went away if I took my foot off the gas.

So for the next week, I'm driving an '03 TL. Not a bad car, but I like my TSX better.

 

maybe yours was one of the ones whose VIN was within a certain range that neede to be fixed ?

 

I've had mine since November. Vin # 17,XXX

Do you know what the exact problem was?

 

They claim that they can't open it up and check it out... they have to send it back to Acura so they can try to figure out why it failed.

 

THey used to say the same thing about the CL/TL TRANNIES 01-03. This isn't a good thing to hear about

 

well at least you won't have to pay for getting the tranny replaced.

my vin # is in the 18,xxx range, and i'm at almost 3600, gosh something to think about.
