31.5K for Non-Nav TSX
31.5K for Non-Nav TSX
Here's my issue, I wonder if you guys might offer some advice.
I've been searching for a Royal Blue/Ebony 6MT Non-Nav for awhile, and I finally found one that's available.
In fact, it's the only one in the entire state of California!
They will only sell it at MSRP (28505) + 315 for the wheel locks, mud flaps, trunk tray, and floor mats.
My out the door price would be $31500!!!
I've read the price thread, and people are getting nav models for less than this! What do you think I should do? I really want the blue and the 6MT, but is it worth it?
Also this would include me flying, and then driving the car 400 miles home.

If you can wait 90 days, order it. Then the dealers are at your mercy. LA has been home to some great quotes that I've seen on this forum. Unfortunately for you, the emission standards make it hard (if not impossible) for Cali to trade with other states. I'm looking for 6MT/RBP/ebony w/navi and am resigned to ordering.

Are Cali cars different (emissions wise) than cars from other states? I would think Honda made the car to be sold unchanged in all 50 states and Canada.

yes, i too thought that, as long as the car is considered ULEV, it would be legal in CA. and, since CA does have very strict emission laws, ULEV would also be street legal for the entire US and canada.

I have checked with several SoCal dealers, this is the *only* RBP/Ebony/6MT/NonNav in the state.
Are they full of shit? Maybe.
I love that blue, but is it worth getting raped on the price?

Indeed, if I chose to get a CGP or NHP or Silver, I could negotiate easily. It's that damn blue. It's so nice, but for some reason CA dealers haven't been ordering them. I wonder why?
Negotiate a good deal on one and have one of the dealers steal one from the shipment that should be on its way across the pacific. They can trade for a specific color or package before the car reaches the port. It's a little more work for the dealer but if they really want the deal, they'll be happy to do it. There should be a new shipment of cars coming every few weeks so you shouldn't have to wait three months for the car. That's just ridiculous at this point.

Since you're in Orange County call or email Bonnie (the Internet Sales Manager) at Norm Reeves Acura in Mission Viejo. She can tell you when/if she has that combo coming in. She was able to tell me approximately when the combo I wanted was coming in and I put a deposit down. Her delivery estimate was right on the money. She has been offering $500 over invoice to several of us on this board. To see the deal I got click on my username and read my previous posts.

Have a dealer you like working with look ahead to the list of incoming cars. I'm in Utah and I ordered the exact car you want and it was due to be here at the end of February. I have since ordered a different combo (RBP/Nav/Parchment) so the vehicle I ordered should be available for a dock trade. Regarding the California emissions, I was told all TSXs are 50-state vehicles, meaning there is no difference between a California TSX and any other U.S. TSX. Good luck

I might need that info.

And 31.5 OTD for a non-navi TSX is insane. I paid that much OTD for a navi model 3 weeks ago.
If a dealer knows you WANT a car they have and specifically are endeared to a specific color they are sometimes less willing to part with it (for you) for a good deal. If you had walked in there just iinterested in the checking out the TSX and left unsure and then came back and wanted to talk prices and in the end mentioned u wanted a specific color they "may" have not seen you as a HALO car hunter and might have dealt more reasonably with you.
It's like walking into the dealer and saying "Oh my GOD i HAVE to buy THAT car!" They will begin grinning from ear to ear and see $$ in their eyes.
and of course not all dealers are like that.....right Colin?

Check out my thread on my car. I asked about a stick, and they said they could do a dealer trade for a stick at my price; however, I got an auto.

Mission Viejo has one with Nav coming in, but it's already sold. And as far as I know, that's the only one in CA of that type as well.
