30K service question.

Hello,

I know that the 06 + TSX's have the maintenace minder system, which alerts to you which services need to be done. However, I was just wondering if all of you 04-05 TSX owners did the 30k mile service? If so, what was Acura charging you for it?

Lastly, do you think any of the services are actually worth it, even if it's done at an independent shop? I can understand the need to flush fluids, but I just can't justify the hundreds of dollars that the dealership charges you to "inspect" things on the car, which they probably never even really do.

Thanks!

i go to a mechanic back home that we've used for years. he laughed at the idea of flushing all the fluids at 30k. so i just did a standard oil change.

at 45,000, i paid my mechanic labor to check the car (kind of like an inspection) just to see if there were anything i needed to be concerned about as i approached the 50,000 mile warranty.

he said everything still looked like a new car, and that there were no issues to be concerned about.

i'm at 56,000 now, need to go in for a tire rotation and soon an oil change. 2006 TSX - I'm hoping to run this vehicle for at least 200,000 miles.

I did most of the recommended services myself. Did the ATF drain/fill and the coolant drain/fill. I paid Acura to replace the brake fluid while they did the oil change but I don't remember how much they charged for that.

I have all my service done by an acura dealer that I trust and have used for 7+years now. I had a oil change before the 50,000 mile mark and they did a extra check for me. I still have the original MT and brake fluids. I'm at 84,000 miles and the oil life is 20%. Most places check over the car when you get an oil change. (cheaper than the mileage maintenance)At my last oil change at a dealer in Nevada last month they complimented me on how well maintained my car is.
