30000 mile checkup
Had my wife's '08 6MT Nav in for the 30000 mile checkup. All was OK except battery had to be replaced under warranty - did not pass the load test of min CCA. No other issues with this car - the way I like it.

good news-guess you do not follow the maintenance minder- My mom does not either on her 08 accord. she does not drive enough. I do follow it on my 06-still with the original battery and brakes with 96,000+problem free miles. Love it.

When my first oil change reminder came up @8600 miles I chose to follow my own schedule. I feel those reminders will eventually cause mechanical problems later down the road outside of warranty period - just MOHO. Just peace of mind for me.

Hoping you continue to have good luck with your tsx and it gets up to the miles I have on mine without problems. Long distance highway driving helps me. (except for adding up the mileage).

It looks like Honda has reprogrammed the OLM software for 08. My 06 goes to 0% oil life at about 5500 miles no matter how I drive it. Oh well ... ![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
And one other thing - what's with the 30,000 mile checkup? These vehicles have their maintenance schedule determined by the MID, and it's not on the basis of miles anymore.

As previously stated I use what works for me-I average 30,000+miles a year. I tried using premium for over 2 months, then switched to the regular-No loss in performance or MPG. My gas mileage went down slightly when I switched the OEM tires to Yoko's.

Burning Brakes
you need to go back to premium gas. You're doing harm to your engine. High compression motor requires higher octane gas to combust. If you put in lower, the PCM/ECU automatically retard the timing to prevent knocks and ping. The PCM/ECU doesnt prevent it 100%. If you keep that up, eventually your motor is going to brake down on you. 90K mile of highway doesnt mean a lot of miles. 90K mile of inner city driving means more due to stop and go wear and tear.

The only reason the TSX "requires" premium fuel is because that's what was used during all of its R&D and testing. To harm the engine, it would have to have a far higher compression ratio. Regular fuel is fine in all current gasoline engines on the market.
