2Gen TSX Key on 1Gen TSX
#4
you obviously don't understand how our cars work.
an 07 TL key is what you want to make the mod out of.
and 09 TSX will NOT work.
being a laser cut key is not the problem.

Exactly. As I stated in my earlier post, they use different immobilizers and different keyless entry remotes. The 07 TL uses the same immobilizer and same keyless entry remote as the 1G TSX. Oh and by the way, I have the 07 TL key for mine too.

Storing transmitter codes.
The codes of up to three transmitters can be stored into the keyless receiver unit memory. (If a
fourth code is stored, the code which was first input will be erased.)
NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors, the
hood and the trunk lid are closed. The symbol (II) denotes the on position of the key where the
double I (II) symbol is stamped on the ring surrounding the ignition lock.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
2. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at
the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
3. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
5. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at
the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
6. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
8. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at
the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
9. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
11. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed
at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators within 1 to 4 seconds, then push
the transmitter lock or unlock button again, or the code will not be stored.
13. Within 10 seconds, aim the transmitter (up to two additional ones) whose codes you want to
store in the keyless receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you
can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the key.
15. Confirm proper operation with the transmitters.
NOTE: Once the programming mode is entered, the remote button must be pressed a second time.
If the button is not pressed, or if the ignition switch is turned OFF, the programming for all
remotes will be cancelled.

And by the way, when they say you have 10 seconds to register all of your remotes, they're not kidding. It took me a few tries to get to all 3 when I did mine.
Oh, and I almost forgot. What year is your TSX? If it's an 04/05 the remote might not work right after programming. If it doesn't, hold the lock and unlock buttons until the light flashes to unlink the memory seating and it should work fine.

I had this issue with mine. The instructions are pretty poorly written in this regard. When they tell you to turn the ignition switch to "Off" they really mean turn it to "Accessory." Basically, put the key in, turn it to the "On" position but don't bump the starter. Next, press the button on the remote. Next, turn the key one position counter clockwise to the "Acc" position. The radio should stay on when you do this, and you do not have to push the key in to get there (if you have to push the key in, you've gone too far.) Turn the key back to the "On" position. Push the button on the remote. Do this a total of 4 times and you should hear the locks cycle. Follow the referenced instructions from there.
And by the way, when they say you have 10 seconds to register all of your remotes, they're not kidding. It took me a few tries to get to all 3 when I did mine.

Hmm, that's odd. My FCC ID (as well as a few others here) is OUCG8D-439H-A. I'll have to have a look at that. You're getting it off the back of the key (above the directions for lock and unlocking the memory seats) or are you taking the remote off the key and getting it from there?

Hmm, the FCC info on all the TL keys I've ever seen is the very top line. The Memory 1 is the bottom line with a picture of a seat below it. I'd wonder if you got an American TL key, but Acura only exists in North America. They're relased under the Honda name everywhere else in the world.

Okay, going off that FCC ID you gave me, that's not a TL key. It looks more like a Civic or Accord key. The TL key is a "switchblade" type key. The key itself folds back into the fob and locks into place. Then when you push a button at the top, it springs out.

Can you post a picture of your key? Where are you located, BTW? US, Canada?
Oh, you know what, I think they changed keys mid year. If I remember right, the early 07s (built in 06 and the early part of 07) don't have the switchblade key. I think it was a mid model year revision. I remember reading that somewhere, just don't remember where.
And you're actually better off buying them from a private party who's already milled the key. The TL key is very different from the TSX key and has to be modified to work with our cars. The keyblade has to be milled down to size and the grooves have to be milled in order for it to work.
