2006 TSX features you like/dont like?

So a few people have had the car for a couple weeks. What are you favorite features? What are your least favorite features?

Also, can anyone tell me, does the car come with an alarm? I thought my dealer mentioned it today, but wasnt sure.

Well obviously in November, but you said that a few people have had it for a couple of weeks and after registering/buying a new car, you get the plates about a month afterward.

The alarm's the standard immobilizer, nothing else. If you want an alarm you've still gotta buy one.

Nope, standard immobilizer plus standard horn/flashing lights and stereo lockout. What many cars will come with nowadays.

Plates in a month? Maybe in the states. Here in BC, the insurance agents come with plates in hand for you to choose from. No dealing with temp papers, unless you want vanity plates or something.

Hmm, some of my favourite/least favourite features?

Let's start with the favourites. In this weather, I'm really starting to like the butt/back toasters (heated seats). I just use them long enough to warm up the coooold leather faster than my own butt can. I've been using the aux input and it's great. Haven't really been using CDs much since I got the car.

Least favourite? I really wish the aux input was more than just an aux input and I could control my mp3 player through the wheel-mounted controls. And I want to avoid buying an ipod if at all possible.
And more importantly, I'd like to see the track info on the stereo display (or MID!). I'd also really love to have the stereo turn on automatically when an attached player is turned on (and the aux input receives an audio signal). THAT would make it SOOO much more convenient.

Minor annoyances. The overhead lights are seriously bright. I may have to do the blue LED conversion to dim them a little.

Oh, and my absolute favourite feature: the 6speed.

Features I love:

-MID
-HandsfreeLink
-AUX input
-Trip computer

Features I don't really feel strongly about either way:
-Memory seats

Features I don't like:
-none

Features I wish they had added:
-Climate control/radio readout in the clock area display like on the navi models
-MP3 playing capabilities on the stock headunit

As far as the alarm goes, the car is fitted with a door lock/door ajar sensor alarm with a vehicle immobilizer. So if the door is unlocked or opened while the alarm is armed, the alarm sounds and the ignition system is disabled. Also, the immobilizer system ensures that without the transponder signal from the key, the vehicle cannot be started.

06 TSX-Like/Don't Like

I like the new wheels but do not like the front bumper; specifically the change to incorporate the foglamps. Acura could have done a better job.

Kind of off topic...sorry. Does the 2005 have the auto window down feature when you unlock the car with the key fob? Thanks.

Yes. It's not really auto. But with the TSX it's one click to unlock drivers door, two clicks to unlock all of the doors. If you hold the unlock key down after the 2nd click, all of the windows will roll down. So i'm not sure if you call that an "auto" since you still have to hold down the button on the remote.

Enjoying my '06 White Pearl/Parchment

'06 even better. You can feel the extra power. Bluetooth works flawlessly. MID could not do without. NAVI is more informative and about 4 times faster. Solid well build shorts sedan. I was concerned about the new wheels, but after seeing them up close they are of better quality. 06 is slightly more sportier due to minor external changes.

Acura could go up notch on carpeting.

My apologies, I didn't mean to hijack the thread.

I guess to make amends, I'll list a few of my favorite features from the 2006 model year. I had a chance to check them out when I was in to buy my 2005. I really like the bluetooth. I'm kind of a geek, so this thing really appeals to me. I'm also a fireman, so the safety aspect of it is awesome. I like the new maintenance minder system too, that'll save some people a lot of grief in remembering when to get their car serviced.

Other thing I noticed is the nice new AT shift lever. Nice and small and shorter than the old one.

The same poeple keep posting all over the forum(s) how bad the 06 rims are, who are they trying to convince? To me they don't look any better or worse than the previous rims which certainly aren't the best OEM rims on the road but if it's a big thing then don't buy an 06!!

My favorite things on the 06 are Bluetooth and the navi I guess.

No dislikes but it they were going to make improvments I would have to say better and standard MP3/media integration, mirrors linked to memory, and of course more power.

Too bad they didn't have bi-xenons like on the TL.

I know it looks bad, but do they finally have factory door guards as an option now on the 06 TSX's?

When I bought mine they weren't available yet, are they available for the 04/05s?

My previous 06 rims comments were from seeing pics only. Now that I've see them in person I felt like I should make another comment

Who am I trying to convince? Noone, like I said to each their own. And not buying an 06 because of the rims is narrow minded. There's always optional Acura wheels and the aftermarket.

I thought the original poster was asking owners of 06s for their comments on likes and dislikes of their cars. Poeple who will never even consider buying an 06 keep popping up all over telling everyone how bad the new rims are and attach a puking face. Just find it odd that they keep telling everyone they don't like the rims, over and over.

They're trying to convince themselves. It's a classic case of denial.

IMHO, most OEM TSX rims range from OK to nice. I place the 06s as nice. The only ones that fall outside these ratings for me are the 05 A-Spec. Now THOSE are *nice*!

If I am not mistaken the title of this thread was 2006 TSX features you like/dont like? I don't like the wheels and I posted it. I have no intention of purchasing a 06 TSX, or changing anyone's opinion about purchasing a 06 TSX(don't recall claiming or suggesting that).

Sounds like you are the one trying to convince people of how great the 06 wheels are.

And where did I say the 06 rims are great?

The original poster said now that some owners have had their 06s for a couple weeks what are your likes and dislikes? Sounds to me like he was asking poeple that actually have an 06.

If I didn't like the wheels on the 04 TSX I wouldn't just pop up on threads telling everyone I didn't like them, what's the point? I try to tell poeple what I do like about their cars.

for clairifcation..

i was looking for current 2006 TSX owners to tell me things they like and don't like about the car. What things pleasantly surprised you that you didn't expect? What things surprised you in a not so pleasant way? Obviously, features like the wheels, the grill, the lights, etc etc, we all know about it. what are you finding out about the car that hasn't been plastered all over the forums? Is there a rattle in your door? does the car have a little more giddy-up than you thought? how is it now that you have 1,000 + miles on it? etc etc etc....things only owners would know about.

things you know because you've been using the car. not because you saw it and think it's cool/not cool, but because you used it and think it's cool/not cool.

thanks!

I get better gas mileage if I keep my revs between 3000 and 4000rpm, instead of cruising at 2000 to 3000rpm. As I've seen mentioned before, I have a new video game in the MID... watching the average L/100km and trying to make it drop while still having fun with the car.

I've had mine over three weeks now and there's really nothing I don't like about it. The TSX is my fourth Acura/fifth Honda product and it's what I expected, solid, absolutely no rattles or sqeeks, handles better than I thought after taking a few runs in the mountains. I get good mileage, better than a Mazda3 I also own although it's not much quicker. We've had some rare snow and I had no problems with the car, even had some fun in an empty mall parking lot with the VSA and ABS. I had no problems in the snow as reported in other threads. The navi is better than I imagined and a lot quicker.

The only "negative" if you want to call it that is I notice a vibration from the engine but only when the car is cold then it's gone. It only happens at stop lights or signs. No one else has mentioned this so maybe I'm being overly picky.

Hope this helps.

...........does the car have a little more giddy-up than you thought?
I think mine is faster than I thought it would be. It definitely seems quicker than the '05 I test drove. No, it's not quite as fast as my '02 TL-S was, but I have to say, I don't miss the power and I really thought I would.

I'm a fan of the break-it-in hard technique (within reason, lots of revving), and I've not felt that the engine is lacking in power in any way - especially once you're moving and need to accelerate. And this is at an elevation here in Colorado of 6000+ feet (= loss of power). I really can't see this car not being powerful enough for any normal, "spirited" driver (drag racer types aside) - especially those at sea level.

Just my $.02

Overall, I like the '06 TSX a lot better than my '02 TL-S which I drove for the past 48 months before my lease ended. It's more fun to drive, probably has a better stereo, nicer interior, iPod jack, Bluetooth, a SWEET navi, 60/40 fold down rear seats (better for ski trips), etc. In fact, the ONLY thing I miss is the side-view mirrors that tilt down when the car is placed in reverse (I like to back into parking spots and this makes it MUCH easier).

They're nothing alike

IMO they're that bad but again its my opinion. If thats the only negative I can come up with regarding the 06 then I think thats saying alot.
