2006 TSX 5AT Question

I have a 2006 TSX 5AT and run in Sport Shifter mode fairly often when I'm not on a highway. My only complaint about this mode is that 1st gear is so short -- I almost immediately have to upshift to 2nd gear after getting going.

Well, today I noticed that, when standing still, the transmission allows me start off in second gear. I tried it a few times and it seems to start up just fine, with no discernible strain.

Has anyone else noticed this? Am I asking for trouble down the road by starting up in 2nd gear from a stop, instead of 1st gear?

Thanks.

Nope. This is perfectly okay. Usually 2nd gear starts are intended for low traction conditions, but you can use it however you see fit.
