My local dealer in central Connecticut has its first 2006 scheduled to come off the assembly line 10/24. He said it then takes a month or so after that to arrive at the dealership. So, I would guess around Thanksgiving or early December.

You may be working through a higher volume dealer with more priority, so we may both be right. I'm still debating about going 2005 instead - probably save some $$.

I go back and forth. The big things for me are:

- the aux input for an iPod (sounds like this can be added aftermarket, but I would not feel comfortable doing it myself)
- included fog lights (can be added by dealer)
- the integrated hands-free bluetooth (wonder how good the incoming and outgoing sound quality is plus my Treo 650 is rumored to not work well based on experiences I have read with the TL).

The memory seats would be nice too, but hard to justify. The rest I could do with or without.

I'm paying $750 over invoice for an '06 and I know that a few others have similar deals. I figure it's 1500-2000 more than I'd pay for an 05. A year of depreciation alone is worth that. I'm fine with the style change and very happy about the upgrades, just what I was wishing the TSX had. For me, '06 is no brainier.

For others, the choice was just the opposite. I understand that too, I bought my last car at the end of the model year and never regretted it.

I have ordered my 06 and my dealer said late November, early December for it's arrival. I'm expecting early December. They said that they could give me a better date in a couple of weeks.

I still don't know what MSRP is yet.

I am away the last two weeks of November so early December is perfect for me.

I ordered mine last Saturday with the order going in this past Monday. Was told that I should expect it late December, maybe January.

How are people handling ordering the car without a price. Are you just straight out saying, I'll only give you a deposit if we agree on x over invoice or X under MSRP? What are people getting for x. Although we haven't discussed price yet, I get the distinct impression that my dealer wants MSRP. My lease us up 11/1 but honda says I can keep the car as long as I want, I can't decide weather to try and get a car on order now or wait until the week between christmas and new year and try and deal for something that is hopefully on the lot.

Yes. And my purchase agreement says x over invoice where the price would normaly be.

I hear that Christmas is a good time to deal on cars. If you like the car your in, you might wait a few months to find one on the lot.

That where the dealership/salesman charge you hunderds of dollars for about $20 worth of products and a couple hours (at most) time. It's almost pure profit for them -- that's coming from a friend who used to sell new cars.

The protection package can be one of two things.

It can be the option where you get the mudguards, all weather mats and trunk liner, or it can refer to rust proofing and paint and leather protection.

That's true...and for the record I was talking about the latter one.

2006 TSX in Northern VA

I spoke with a large NoVA Acura dealer this weekend, and from all of the info they're receiving, they won't receive their first 2006 TSX until late November/early December.

This is still a while yet, but I don't mind waiting to get some of the added features on the '06, and it'll give me time to sell my current car.

Cheers.

So, the additional 12-15HP is just gravy?
