2005 TSX AT w/o NAVI 7000mi = 25,000?
Title says it all. I can get an (almost) new 2005 w/ 7000 miles for 25,000+tax (It's a dealer loaner) Is this a good deal? (priced via/ internet/phone) It's the color and trim I want (Black on Black). Offered an additional 12mo bumper to bumper in addition to the factory warranty. The dealer is kinda far from me so I'd like to know if it's a good deal before I make the trip. Any advice is appreciated.

i dont think it's a good deal, considering the prices to be had on the 2006s so far.
as far as loaner = abused, i disagree. the type of people who get a loaner acura usually arent the type of people who abuse cars. obviously, you cant be assured of that.
but besides that, my family has pretty much bought nothing but loaners/demos and every car we've owned has gone over 200,000 miles with no problems until almost 200k.
so i wouldn't balk at getting a loaner, but this isnt worth it

I bought an '04, certified pre-owned in May for $23,500 with a 7 year warranty. Was also a loaner car at the dealership. It's in fine shape, been great so far. Had about 16K miles on it.
I noticed a couple dealers in my area, though, that still have an '04 or two NEW that they have not been able to sell. They'd probably give those to you for $25,000 now, considering they are 2 years old at this point!!!

Well it looks like the consensus is not good. Although too bad since I just bought it! I couldn't check this thread out before tonight. I guess I'll have to live with it. I still love the car, and I have the warranty + the extra 12K certified warranty. Plus I got the mud flaps and tire locks. Didn't have to pay delivery or any registration, I figured that is about another grand I would have spent. Just don't tell me it's an awful deal! (It doesn't sound like it) Since I do have it now, anybody have any recomendations post purchase? Is it worth taking to a mechanic to give it a once over? Also, how's the MP3 add-on?

I did, and didn't come up with anything. (google) It's a certified vehichle, w/ warantee so shouldn't I be covered no if there was a problem. and if there was a problem becuse of abuse wouldn't it show up during the first 5 years?
- Couldn't find any new 04's. Just cars w/ 34K+ miles for the most part.

i'd say the price wasn't the best price you could get, but hey, you got a great car at an ok price. don't listen to these isolated cases about test drive/loaners. think of it this way, even if they are abused, they had constant attention from mechanics. i'm not sure i'd buy a rental car, but nationwide has a sales lot in my area, and no one that has purchased from them that i know has had any problems. the cars are detailed almost daily, and checked for problems frequently. i think you'll be fine, plus you got the extra 12k warranty, so you're covered til it hits 62,000? enjoy it!

Kbb.com states the price at $24,450 in good condition at private party value.
The resale on the TSX is extremely good that it makes little to no sense buying an used one (unless there are huge circumstances or incentives).
Anyway, try to negotiate the price a bit more, and go for a test drive. I'd pay no more than $24k OTD for an used 2005 TSX.

KBB states the values of my car (private party, excellent condition) w/ 7k mi (as optioned) @ $26,855 . It's original sale date is june 3 2005. So Basically I get a much better waranty for 62K MI 6yr PLUS a 7 year 100K powertrain. I'm begining to think this "Deal" really wan't that bad at all.

That price is just not that good for starter. Go back and negotiate.
In all likelihood that car has NOT been horribly abused as I refered earlier.

I am hearing you guys about the demo/loaners, but what about one with SUPER low milage? I have my eye on one that has @750 miles. Any thoughts?
Also, is getting a certified TSX worth the extra cost?
FWIW, I have been lurking here for 2+ months and you all are VERY informative and the topics are great. I currently drive a '00 Solara s/c and lurk on Solaraguy.com often. Very different type of driver for the TSX. I have decided to get an '05AT for my wife as a daily driver and for my weekend toy.

So, as long as they are offering the car to you at a fair price, I say go for it. But if you can get a brand new one for a few hundred bucks more, go for the new one.
