2005 Good deal or wait for 06?

Looking for opinions on what to do. Wife wants a TSX, went looking this weekend, and was quoted $25,500 for new 05 (auto, non nav). Is this a good deal, or should I hold off for the 2006 model to hit the dealers? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Does the wife care about the the additional HP in the 06 model? Or the other differences? If not, wait a little longer till the 06 are available and you'll be able to pick up the 05 for less. But, don't forget, you'll be losing a year's worth of depreciation as soon as you drive it off the lot.

Personally, I'd get the 06.

It sounds like a good deal to me. Personally, I think the new '06 features make the TSX complete so I would get the 2006 TSX if I was in the market (which I am).

I pondered about this though on this site and in my head. Decided on the 06. Although the 05 is a better deal, I wanted the new features rumured to be on the 06. I plan to keep the TSX for a number of years and I knew that I would always be wishing that I had the extra features.

If money is a concern or if the new features don't mean much to you, the 05 is a great car and a better value now.

Excited!

hey, i am waiting for the 06 too, if you guys can wait, IMO, wait til the 06 is out, then you can compare which one fits more. probably you can get a better deal for 05 if you end up not liking the 06

wait with me!! hahaha

My friend JUST bought a 05 TSX.. I told him to hold for 06 and all the upcoming features / colors..

His ass just couldn't wait and just jumped on the 05.. I hope he doesn't regret it.

details

I am in Las Vegas. (Acura of LV).

The salesman keeps telling me that the 06's will not arrive till mid - late November and too expect a Price increase. He also tells me that the the 06 will hold very close to full sticker.

Looking for some more opinions:

1. Is $25,500 a good deal?
2. Do you think that a deal can be made on an 06 in Nov, or is close to full sticker going to be the price to expect?
3. Do you think Acura will throw a rebate out on the 05 model sometime around or after labor day?

Given that this car is for my wife, the new features really dont mean that much to me. However the modest HP increase would be nice on the 06.

But, on the other hand if 06's hold close to sticker (estimate 28K), and guessing best deal I can do is say 27K...not sure that the added hp is worth the extra $1500

All advice/opinions greatly appreciated.

Also, would love to know what others paid for their 05's.

1. It's decent, you can probably get him down a little more.
2. No way you could get even close to the same deal for an '06, and I'm of the mindset that there is going to be a pretty large price increase in the 06 MY. The foglights and aux input are a good $600 alone plus normal inflation etc. I think the price increase is gonna be around $1500.
3. I doubt it, the car sells far to well, they don't need to.

Honestly, I would wait for the 06. But if the features don't matter and you are going to keep the car for a while, then get the 05. If you plan on selling the car quickly remember you lose 1 years depriciation on the 05 the second you buy it. Although you can get some of that back through low mileage, you don't get it all back. If you keep the car for a while it won't matter. Just my

EDIT: BTW I think the salesmen is probably telling you the truth about the middle of november, maybe the beginning but who knows.

I've personally decided to go for the '05. From what I saw from the user Keebler, some good deals are out there and nothing I've seen from the '06 has made any new feature overcome the expected new price point.

Hey everyone,
Just bought a black w/ebony TSX,.....just joined the AZ community too. While we (my dad and I) were looking for the colour TSX we wanted, one dealer offered us the same price we had agreed upon for a 2005 on a 2006,....whatever colour we wanted as soon as they got the 2006's in (in november). I live in Ontario, and there were no GP tsx's and only 2 black w/ebony tsx's left in Ontario (with manual tranny anyway)when we agreed to buy our new TSX. The dealer actually laid claim to our car while it was in port in Vancouver. They found a black w/ebony in a dealership not far from where we purchased our TSX,..........and we can take that one home if want (we will get it faster), or wait for the FRESH TSX to be delivered a week later if we want. The one found at a dealer had 100kms on it,.......the one out in Vancouver will have whatever it takes to drive it off the boat, and off the train to the dealership in Hamilton. I dunno what one we will take,..........if the one at the dealership has paint chips or scratches anywhere,............gonna wait for the one in vancouver to arrive.

Does everyone think we are crazy for not waiting for the 2006 at the same price? We actually got a few extra hundred off the car because the dealer that offered us the 2006 was not the same one we got our TSX from. I didnt really want to wait a few months for the new 2006 since Im JUST out of university and will probably need the car to get to whatever job I end up getting,..........PLUS I want to drive our sweet new TSX. The rate on the car would for sure be higher on the 2006 vs the 2005 as well. We somehow got a 1.4% rate,........I will ask my dad how if anyone wants to know,..........during the 2.9% event Acura was offering until Aug 31st here.

If you can wait for the 2006 to come out, you could compare the two and maybe get a good deal on a 2005. Keep in mind,.........you may not be able to find the colour you want in a 2005 TSX. That might be dependent on where you live etc. I was lucky,.........there were only 2 black w/ebony showing up in Ontario, plus the 5 black w/ebony that were on that boat out in Vancouver port,.......one of which we laid claim too. Also, if anyone is looking for a TSX and lives near Hamilton,.......go to Acura of Hamilton and consider buying from them. Had a good buying experience there, and they had a promotion on (which I got by buying my TSX) where they send you to mosport in October to drive F2000 race cars, on their pocketbook. There are a few spots left on the promotion, if anyone is lookig for a 2005 TSX and can get to hamilton. The thing at mosport is worth at LEAST 600 dollars CAD.

Hope you find the TSX you are looking for.

1. You can do better. Someone here just got an '05 w/NAV & Auto for $25.5
2. No where close to the deal you can get on the '05
3. No clue

I don't think the price of the '06s are going to go up significantly.
Otherwise, the car would be creeping into TL price territory.
Plus you have to remember that the IS250 due out as well so that's another competitor to keep prices in check.
My guess is it will be another $500 greater, at most.
