2005 Acura TSX OEM kit vs A-SPEC kit.

Sup guys? I'm in the market for a lip kit for my TSX, what is the different between the OEM kit and the A-spec? I've searched but not really find any pics of the two, and how much you guys paid for it? Is $1100 too much? Thanks in advance.

---- Mod, if this thread in the wrong place, please move it. Thanks ----

First, $1100 seems really high.
Second, OEM kit and A-Spec kit, with regards to the body kit, are the same thing. Technically the A-Spec package contains factory lowering springs, the body kit, and some trim differences.

Some online dealerships have the OEM kit for $900 painted. Shop around.

Not on the '04-'05's... I'm 99.999% sure of that. My car has the OEM kit and I've never seen a factory Acura kit different than this one for the 04-05 model year.

They are one in the same. The 04-05 kit is slightly different from the 06-08 kit.

OEM kit / A-spec body kit is not the same depending on who's wording it is. Oem kit imo is the stock bumpers and side skirt.
for 04-05 A-spec kit front lip is add on, side skirt is replacement, rear lower lip is add on. the side skirt are different from the oem side skirt. oem rolls inward from top to bottom. while aspec as you can see from your link .. flares out.
that is the A-spec body kit for the 04-05. just aftermarket (duraflex) while Aspec is abs plastic.

06-08 kit, from lip is add on, side is replacement, and rear is add on.

Imo .. i think the best look is ... 04-05 front bumper with 04-05 aspec kit, 06-08 OEM/stock side skirt, 06-08 rear bumper and 06-08 rear lower lip.

the front bumpers and rear bumpers has to match up with year model year wise (04-05 & 06-08) with the front and rear lower lip. ie. 04-05 front lower lip will only fit on 04-05 front bumper

This is the non-stock, OEM kit for 04/05 (same as A-spec unless someone has pics to prove me wrong). The side skirts are not typical "stock" looking - they have a flare in the back half (see pics).

Your wording is what is messing people (and you) up. stock bumpers and all, is not a "kit", it's "stock". A "kit" is anything you add-on, whether replacement or overlay, to differentiate it from a stock TSX.

The A-spec version of the TSX for 2004-2005 has the A-Spec Kit, which is also known around most enthusiast sites as "The OEM Kit" as it's made by Acura (the OEM). But, it's NOT "stock", it's a kit / add-on / extra.

The bumper and lip have to match with each other. But there's nothing stopping me from putting the 04-05 A-Spec kit on my 2006 TSX right? I'm wondering because I prefer the look of the earlier kit far more than the 06-08 one.

I don't think you can put a 04-05 A-Spec kit on a 06 TSX, the front of the 06-08's are different than the 04-05's. I don't know about the side skirts and rear, but I definitely know that 04-05's have a different front bumper than the 06-08's, therefore you cannot use the same A-Spec kit....
