2 fold question on displayed temperature

OK, I've noticed my temp sensor is consistently ~5 degrees (F) too hot this spring/summer. I found this useful thread: (http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6752) on how to adjust the readout.

1. Has anyone done this on a 2006 and can confirm it works? (I have navi, don't know if that makes a difference since its in the MID) Also, is it tied to 'Driver1' / 'Driver2' like most settings? I use an accord key and can't utilize these features.

2. Has anyone relocated the outside temp sensor to somewhere other than next to the radiator? (what an odd place anyway) This I could not find anything useful in search. I don't see any reason why I couldn't put it somewhere more useful, like next to my CAI air horn, to get a better outside temp reading.

I'd really like to move the sensor. Can someone post scans of exactly where it is and how to access it? I assume I can just extend the wires and tuck it away somewhere more useful. Having it read next to the air horn seems logical since that's the temp of the air the engine is getting. Thanks.

It's right behind the license plate.

Just FYI, update your bookmark to tsx.acurazine.com instead of acura-tsx.com because I'm not sure how long acura-tsx.com will be alive.

I think he means behind the front plate, inside the bumper cover directly back from it

In that case, your temperature sensor is at your local motor vehicle department

I've noticed the temp to be just about exactly on target, maybe 1 degree too high. You definitely have to drive for about 6-8 minutes before it reaches the correct reading. I've noticed that bank readings are always a few degrees higher than radio or Weather Channel temps, probably because the bank signs are in the sun and the weather channel info is 15 minutes late and shaded.
