10,000 mile maintenance
Is just the oil change enough at the 10,000 mile maintenance or do you think its good to get everything done that is on the manual. (alignment etc.)
I guess dealer charges around 100$ for the maintenace, anyone know what all do they do.. I got oil change around 5K.. as I fall under extreme driving conditions.. driving around 5 miles to work everyday.
Please suggest.

Tire rotation (balance optional, which may be about $15 more): $30
Total spent: Roughly $70 after taxes and disposal.

What about all the inspection stuff? Is it really worth it to bring to car in so we pay them $$$ just to look at our cars?
I usually change my own oil and filter. Dealer charge too much for synthetics....

Yea, i do plan to bring it to the dealer for thos 'big' services where they do a bunch of stuff.
but what about the 10,000 miles one. Aside from oil and filter change and tire rotation (which can be easily taken care of), do i REALLY need to bring it to them to inspect?? What do you actually inspect for????

If you DIY be sure to keep all your receipts and mark dates & mileage of all work. I believe that if you have a warranty issue the burden of proof that the maintenance schedule was followed will be on you. If Acura decides that the maintenance schedule was not followed they most likely have the option not to cover you, especially if say a tie-rod end fails and you have no proof of inspections . . .

I brought my TSX in for its first oil change, and I provided the 5 qts of Mobil 1 Synthetic, and it still cost me $37 with tax. Their labor is $90/hour, it took them 20 minutes, and they charged me $5 for the filter. Total came to $37.
The 10,000 maintenance said it included wiper blades, tire rotation, check and top off all fuilds, and I think that's it. I didn't get it done, as I would rather pay someone less money to rotate my tires.

I got charged around $100 for 10k service. Waste of money in my opinion. They got me for $65 for tire rotation and balance. You would be better off pocketing the money and using it to buy tires a little sooner than worry about rotating them. I plan to just keep up with oil changes and do the recommended service at 30k intervals.

Well apparently I'm the only one who dropped off my TSX for the 10,000 mile service. In fact, I dropped it off last night and I get it back today. I also had an outstanding trunk wiring issue they needed to fix. They are charging me $129 for the service. Time is money too and I don't have the time to do the work myself so I'll take the hit in the wallet and have time to do other things.
One good thing is that I got an '03 CL type s as a loaner. I had never driven one before so it's nice to have one even if it's for a day.

My stealership gives all their customers a first oil change free Actually (if you also do the maintenance at the recommended mileage) you get every other oil change free. So, I got the first one free and when I took it for the 10,000 miles maintenance I just opted for the oil change. Cost was $28.00 and some change. Plus each time you take it in they detail the car, inside and out! They even put that shiny stuff on the tires....... Car looks really sharp But, since I didn't do the whole maintenance at 10,000 miles, I don't qualify for the every other oil change free

Right now Radley Acura at falls church, VA will give you lifetime oil changes for free if you purchase an acura by the end of the month. Just thought people from VA would like to know. :gheywave:

Bringing this back from the dead to ask if on the 20,000 mile service will they fill my tranny fluid and will they flush it before doing so. I just want to know because it seems my tranny fluid is low. I read post 2 already but no mention if the fluids are low they will fill them at no extra cost.

DRINKING HAS A ME PROBLEM
you could also do a single drain and fill for the transmission fluid. gunk starts to build up early. i had 47,000 miles on my TL and lots of gunk.

To answer your question....according to my booklet:
No tranny stuff.
That first happens at 30k miles.

I just got the oil changed. Mainly because where I was at the time was quite a ways from the nearest dealership, plus a local shop can change the oil and rotate the tires far far cheaper than the dealership said it would.

I took my TSX to a Honda dealer yesterday for the B1 service. I didn't realize this, but practically all Honda models now have the maintenance minder, and the Accord has pretty much the exact same schedule as the TSX (obviously). Anyways, service was very fast, and they even stamped the maintenance book. It cost me about $90, but that was with a coupon. I plan on taking my car there for most of the minor services, and maybe even the bigger ones.
