08 Resetting Maintence required indicator

Has anyone tried this to see if it works on an 08. I will be needing my oil changed soon. If the dealership is not ridiculous in price I will have them do it. If they are I will do it myself. It will cost me about $40 to do it myself. I am not sure what the stealerships are charging. Here are the steps I have, are they correct.

Turn off the engine.
Press brake and hold the Select/Reset
knob in the instrument panel ten seconds, then
turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
Hold the knob for about
until the indicator resets.

most of my oil changes have been free but when I did pay for them they cost $26.45-$34.95 inc. tax. They check over the car and did some minor warranty work that they noticed had to be done.

Not sure about the procedure, but it is in the owner's manual.

Personally, I've only had 1 oil change since I got the car (08, still pretty low mileage) and I had the dealer do it. They didn't charge me for it because I was bringing it in for a warranty repair and I was having them do the oil change while it was there. Now, I'm almost due for the second one, and I'll probably take it to the dealer again. I think the sign in the service department said they do them for about $30 or so (should be less than $40 with tax.) I'll start doing them eventually, but for the first few I'd like to have the dealership do them just for warranty purposes.

I would rather have them do it also, this car is just a daily driver anyway. Thanks for the heads up guys.

the stealership charges $45 for regular oil and $70 for syn.

You could buy 5 qts of syn from wal mart for $22 and an oil filter for 8 and give it to a honduh dealer... they charged me $13 for labor. a little over $40 for a synthetic change without getting dirty.

I had my oil changed at acura dealers in NC and Pa and at a honda dealer in Ks. The highest one was the honda dealer in ks. ($34.95) Most of the oil changes in Pa have been free. the dealers in NC and Pa are both honda and acura. I do not use synthetic-regular oil works for me. (63,500 miles in less than 2 years.) Maybe your dealers are stealerships but the ones I deal with are not.
