Klas,

I bought mine at Advance Auto Parts. You should be able to find them at any chain auto parts store. I know you'll like Icons once you try them.

I was doing a bit of research and I see the Icons are available in A series and B-series. Would you know what yours were? Apparently the B-series are slightly lower profile (?)

I'm not sure but I think the TSX uses the B series. When I bought mine I had the guy that worked at the parts store look up the wiper numbers that fit the TSX. He had them behind the counter and handed them to me and said these are the ones that fit your car. I took them out and put them on and they fit! Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hmm, i've never noticed anything wrong with the wipers. The couple times i used it, i thought it was perfectly fine. Are you guys talking about just a mist and wipe, or like during a heavy rain?

Agree 100%, the Bosch Icons work great! Another AZine member also picked them up and he's very happy with them. Thanks.

'07 wipers aren't much better. horrible streaking. and the rubber casing on the base cracked after 2 months from the cold and 1 snowstorm. absolute failure.

I was in my local auto parts store a few days ago. It showed the A's as being the ones for the TSX. (although I am in Canada if that makes a difference). They didn't list a B equivalent. 426A and 416A were their recommendations for the Icons.

Bought a pair myself. About $60CDN out the door for em... (ouch)

Now I'm just waiting for a dumping of rain (which surprisingly hasn't happened since I'm in the Pacific NW...it should be raining every day!)

I second TSXEd05....Bosch Icons are the way to go. I bought a pair and they are super quiet. My 06 wipers screeched horribly...$55 for the pair at Lordco.

Windshield wipers

Hey I have the 06 TSX, it has been at the dealer 4 times for the wipers and each time the problem remained, loud, chater and squeaks. I contacted Acura customer service and told them abou the issue and the fact that by me purchasing aftermarket Bosch Icon wipers the problem was fixed. Acura is reimbursing me the 46 dollars I spent.

Bottom line Contact Acura customer service and tell them you have issues, if enough people contact they will hopefully correct the problem

Seconded. From their fitment guide, only the A series fit the TSX. There wasn't a B series that fit for the Icons.

Try here to see the fitment for a 2006. It's the same for 2005 and I'd imagine for a 2004 as well.

installed Bosch Icons A series about 1.5 week ago. they're so much better than the OEM blades it's not even funny.

had to order online from advance auto parts. i called 6 auto stores in DE and none of them had the 416A (16") blade. Total for 2 blades was $43 and change, threw in Lexol leather conditioner to hit $50 for free shipping.

Just to be correct, it's the 416A blade for the passenger side, and 426A for the driver's? How do the Bosch's look compared to the Acura OEM ones (I have an 06 if that makes a difference)? I like the clean line of the OEM one.

2006 TSX blades are Bosch Icons

The OEM blades that come installed on the 2006 TSX are Bosch Icon blades. These blades are different from those on previous models. They have no external ribs.
They are the 426A (26 inch) for the driver side and 416A (16 inch) for the passenger side. I just got a great price on them ($17.98 and $13.48) from "Advance Auto Parts" they are having a sale through the month of April and all blades are 25% off. They had to special order these sizes for me.

huh? my OEM blades act nothing like the Bosch Icon's i just installed. Do you mean the OEM rubber inserts are the same as Bosch Icon's? I would also find that surprising. I examined the rubber and it looked different.

And yes, they do not sit as flat to the glass as the OEM since they attach directly under the arm hook to maximized pressure as opposed to hooking to the side of the arm hook like the OEM's (this is what gives you the flat appearance and probably also causes the skipping and chattering because of insufficient pressure)

You're right. The OEMs say "Mitsuba" on the blade they must be very similar copies of the Icon design.

Just picked up some new Icons. Wow, what a difference. But I am a bit concerned that the passenger side blade is touching the windshield frame at the bottom of the sweep and will result in a wear mark. Has anybody experienced any wear to this area? Or has anybody tried a 15" blade instead of the 16"

Thanks

Thats funny I have the 06 blades on a 05 and I love them!! I have no problems at all !! Just the price 50 dollars a pop from the dealer. And for any 04-05ers that want to swap note you have to change the entire arm or they wont stay flat on the windshield.

you don't do anything with the metal wiper arm. the plastic holder where it clips is where it gets removed.

I haven't noticed any wear yet, but the blade does touch the edge of the windshield. But even if I have to replace them frequently, even at $50 a pop, I don't care. They are so much better than the stock blades.

Question

Is it on 06's and 07's that they touch? Perhaps it's not a problem for 04's and 05's. Or is it the opposite?

On my 2006 the 16" touches the window frame, just very slightly. Not too worried about wear on the wiper but rather on the car, getting discolored or something.

Compared to these the OEM were junk, noisy and streaky. I do like how the OEM attach to the wiper arm beside the blade. The Icons attach to the arm on top of the blade. OEM is a lower and sleeker look.

rain-x washer fluid and rain-x spray for the windshield FTW...my '06 wipers work great, that is when i need them...the water just beads right off when its raining and youre driving at a decent speed so i dont need to use the wipers that much

I'm using the oem blades on my 06. I replaced them about 5 weeks ago with oem inserts. they're not the best but they get the job done. the main thing I like about them is the lip built into the top of the blade to keep pressure on the blades at speed.

I haven't noticed a problem with the blades skipping while driving 80 in the rain.

in my civic at that speed in the rain, the wind would lift the blade off of the windshield thus causing no effect from the wipers.

I visited the dealer a 2nd time and insisted they do something other than a straight blade replacement. They adjusted the tension on the passenger arm as much as they could, plus they replaced the blade again. Had a little drizzle last night. So far so good.

Never had a problem with the old school wipers on my '04 and '05. Now the cool looking blades on my '06 are driving me crazy. The passenger side wiper chatters most of the time and both make noise. The dealer has been great about trying to help. Tried a new refill, new blade and replacing the whole thing. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. Dealer hasn't had others complaining so they say.

uhh.. reverse the steps you took to get the first one off

srsly man, the metal hook slides inbetween plastic that unclips, then you straighten the blade and snap it down over the metal hook

Update on the Bosch Icons:

I do NOT recommend them! Less than 5 months of use, they don't wipe clean anymore!

I install the new 04-05 OEM blades. Noisier and not as cool looking, but works perfectly!

The OEM cost only half of the Bosch's and last 2x longer, it's a no brainer!
