06 PWP 6MT w NAV on order!
Hey everyone. I'm a but I've been reading threads for at least the last month. There's a lot of info you all have! So I've ordered my car (2/24) and need to wait "up to 90 days..." And, I'm moving from a 2003 BMW 325i because when I tested the 06 TSX MT, all I can say is WOW!!! It blew me away! (Course I'm biased anyway--had a 1990 Integra RS for 13 years and cried when I sold it).
So here are a couple noob questions--please be gentle with me . I am just about to order a Mugen Front Sports Grille from Kingsports, but am I correct that they NEVER come painted? If so, I'll need to find a place around where I live that does it to match perfectly? Yikes! Also, from what I've read in my MANY searches, is that sometimes they're not painted "correctly." How EXACTLY is the thing supposed to be painted so that I can be sure whatever body/paint shop does it right??
And yes, I love these little smilie things! Thanks in advance for your suggestions/opinions/advice!

Angie - Congrats on the new purchase. I have the same setup on my 06'. As far as painting pieces, every bodyshop says that the White Pearl color is the hardest color to match. Even when I picked up my car, I noticed that the bumpers were a slightly different shade than the rest of the car.
My suggestion is to ask around from other people's experiences of bodyshops in the area. Shop around a little bit for the price, but be weary "you get what you pay for."

Get the PWP paint code from your car and then take it to an authrized Acura body shop to have them paint it with the same paint. PWP I believe is a 3 coat process consisting of base, metallic, clear (not sure of this though but I recall reading this). Be aware that some members have reported that PWP paints, over time, don't exactly match. I mean, the PWP plastic parts fade slightly different than the PWP body parts. I've had mine since Dec. 03 and I have not seen any such difference though. Welcome to Azine and congrats on your purchase.

Wow! a girl with great taste! my wife still bugging me now for the mugen grill that I put it on X'mas time. And I also own a E46 too and actually the TSX is for my wife. So dun forget to post up your pic... I mean your TSX!
And I dun think you need to cry when you get rid of your bmw. You will only cry if you keep your bmw after the warranty and receive the repair bills!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome! I think I'll call boomplustoys again and see if they're more helpful--they weren't the time my dh called--and I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from them. Otherwise, I think I'll stick with Kingmotorsports and have the dealer (or Acura body shop) do the painting like jlukja suggested. Um, the top part doesn't get painted, right? Or am I misunderstanding how it is supposed to look?
And no, I won't cry about my bimmer. I mean, I've had it now for 3 years and I'm ready to go back to my trusted Acura. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, but as all of you know, driving your car is a very personal feeling experience... I'll just have to keep my dh away from it so he doesn't strip the gears!
