Personally I am happy that Altima/Nissan sales are up that means that we'll see less of other cars on the road and specifically TSX. I like standing out with my car and getting the car that has the highest sales numbers is not for me.
Nothing wrong with discussion.

Some of us might want to have both a TSX and an Altima.

To the members who are bashing the 2007 Altima, or who have owned a previous model --- have you actually test driven the '07? What are you basing your thoughts on? This is a brand new model, only out for a few weeks.

I don't think Honda started off being acknowledged as highly as they are now... And I know that some don't feel the Acura TSX is good enough to be a true luxury car.

TSX was significantly higher on my appeal list than last year's Altima SE-R, but still, the Altima looks like it's improved a lot over the years, and I find this year's offering interesting.

And yes, I own a TSX and think it's the best car out there.

We're going back on the weekend to drive a 3.5SE and I assume it will probably be faster than the Legacy 2.5 GT.
Dan, did you try pressing gas pedal very aggressively? This is apparently a strength of the new CVT - you always get the force you need, and instantly.

I love my TSX to death, but because of a lag that sometimes occurs (before the car responds) when you aggressively depress the gas pedal on the automatic transmission TSX, I manually determine the gears myself in dense and fast-moving traffic.

First and last warning. There was absolutely no reason for calling Dan a douche. One more attack on anyone and your gone. Grow up.

In my opinion the v6 and the SE-R altima is better than the tsx from my own experiences. I had a tsx loaner for 2 weeks and i hated it. The tsx is not a f@#$king luxury car its a 4 door integra....

lol i knew someone was gonna get mad at that line but its the truth...no seriously, perforamce wise the TSX cant compare to the Altima 4 cyl. vs. 6cyl. they are in two different classes. There are things i love about both the TSX and Altima. It all comes down to prefference.

The only thing the Altima has over the TSX is a powertrain. That is it. Otherwise the TSX out performs it in everything else.

In your opinion. I owned an Integra and IMO they don't comapre, not even close. It stands to reason that the TSX would feel more like a car its based on (Accord) and not one that it shares absolutely nothing with.

As for it can't comapre to an Altima 4 Cyl. As for the V6. If going straight is all you care about then sure.

Hey Dom, a lady at the dealer was telling me about her Integra. Sad part is she mentioned it was broken into 3 times in the past month. But she was telling me she didn't like the RSX compared to her Integra. She thinks they aren't as good. What are your thoughts on that since you owned a Integra as well. Just curious.

well i guess we both agree that the only thing the Altima has over the TSX is drivetrain....tsx looks better with more features....but hey its still a newer version 4dr integra but more so a 4dr rsx. I still have my 98 gsr so i know it doesn't ride anthing close to the tsx. I love my honda/acura but i got to give credit where credit is due SER Altima > TSX if power is the only thing you are looking for

Don't read very well do you. The TSX is NOT related to the Integra or RSX in any way shape or form. Therefore it is not a newer Integra. This Integra replacement BS came from a few idiotic automotive journalists who didn't spend the time to inquire what the TSX was actually derived from. Believe it or not it shares more with a TL or RL than it does with an RSX.

I've only driven a RSX once so I really can't compare. I loved my 98 GS-R though. Great handling, great on gas and bullet proof. But its nowhere near the TSX in refinement, smoothness or comfort. nor was it meant to be.

I've had a CSX (new Civic) loaner a few times. It has more in common with the RSX than the TSX ever will and IMO it can't comapre to the TSX either. Just a different class of car.

The TSX is the European Accord. It shares nothing or has anything in common with a Intergra or RSX.

has anyone else realized that the TL is a much closer competitor with the Altima then the TSX? the TSX and Altima are nothing alike, one is a compact sedan the other a mid-size. the TL is the one to compare it to, something it's own size to the Altima...and IMHO, the TL whips the altima in every and all segments. (except the 10g price difference). In any case, TL is king. hahahh (sorry TSXers, but if you argue about that then you truly don't know what a 6MT TL is.

TL is a Entry Luxury Level Sedan, the Altima is not. The Altima goes against the Honda Accord. The TL against the Infiniti I35, (when it was around), NOW G35, and ES-350.

As it should be, cost wise. Although there will always be those that disagree.

BTW - My comments regarding the Altima are aimed a the 02-06. For all I know the 07 outhandles and outrefines the TSX. From what I've read and heard the SE-R was a great handler on top of all that power. Hopefully the 07 took some SE-R DNA with it.

The V6 is really nice, relatively smooth (although not anywhere close to Honda/Acura's). I haven't tried the CVT, but I have tried the 6M in 2006, and that transmission was an absolute dog...

I don't understand it when people think their opinion is the "truth".

The TL was on my list to consider, but I chose the TSX, based on my preferences. And it has nothing to do with cost.

The TL has addictive power and is a more luxurious car. But I prefered the TSX over it. I wanted a more compact size car that was agile/nimble with great handling and with a fine balance of precise handling vs. ride comfort. (yes, I felt the TL was slightly harsher, so did my husband, to his surprise and disappointment, because he prefers the TL.) Thus, I picked the TSX. Primarily, it was because the TL's handing was a disappointment compared to the TSX's.
