They do not get as good as a TSX. The VQ has never been known for good gas mileage.
They must have recieved some minor revision in 2007 then, because the website says 22/28 for the auto and 21/29 for the manual. The Canadian website has the 3.5SE listed at 10.6L/100KM city and 7.7L/100KM highway, which is a tad better than the US stats. I imagine we have a slightly different testing standard than the EPA.

exactly right. nissan sucks! all their cars/trucks are shit. the company isn't even japanese anymore. no wonder they're last place in sales and resale value. i don't know why someone would try to convince you otherwise..especially on a TSX FORUM.

Would you say that a Lexus GS is not a luxury car when in essence it is a "rebadged" toyota camry?

There is more to a luxury car then the car itself. The service, warranty et al are part of what makes a car a "luxury" car. Acura, lexus and Infiniti exists in the US mostly as part of a marketing scheme, but also to set aside a certain class. Sure the TSX is riding on the coat tails of its bigger brothers, but to say it isn't luxury is a stretch.

Things such as warranty set apart a luxury car and a standard car. For instance... a honda, toyota nissan has a basic warranty of 3 yr. / 36,000 mi. A car like Acura/ Infiniti/ lexus has a warranty of 4 yr. / 50,000 mi (60k for infiniti)

To illustrate.. here is one reference to "luxury"
http://autos.aol.com/article/general...06141209990001

BTW. I am not a honda-fan boy. The TSX is my first and probably last honda/ acura.

Holy fanboy.

Since you just pulled those statements out of your ass, here are the facts:
1) Kelly Blue Book just rated Nissan and BMW as having the highest resale values for 2006.

2) Last month was the best sales month ever for Nissan, up 33% over the same month last year.

I'd like to see those numbers or a link where it shows Nissan and BMW have the highest resale values especially over Lexus or Honda/Acura. I seriously doubt that.

I am not surprised if this is the result of their 350Z sales, but if it's not I must say I am really surprised, I guess people who buy other Nissan cars really don't care how it looks... I would take Corolla or Civic or Mazda3 (even Dodge Caliber will do) over Sentra, I would take Camry/Accord/Mazda6 over Altima or even Maxima

And Dan, I hate to break it to you but you were wrong on Nissan sales. They are only up 8.1 perfect over last year.

I think it should me somewhat smoother with the CVT in the '07's.

VQ engines have amazing torque. Horsepower may sell cars but torque wins races. TSX and Altima both weigh 3200lbs but the Altima does 0-60 in 6.31 seconds opposed to the 7.21 seconds the TSX does. It also does 1/4 mile in 14.8 while the TSX does it in 15.63.

However, the interior is no where near the TSX's. Not as good quality and ugly orange lights.

The 2002+ Altimas have very good resale value, near tops in class.
Infiniti M has good resale on the Infiniti side.

If that was true, then our 2003 we wouldn't have taken a bath on trading it in after 3 years.

Infiniti M? The previous body style had pretty bad resale, despite being a very good car.
But most people get raped on trade in anyway.

If you're talking about the Altima, then I don't know... can't find a definitive source but the following all show Altima, and Nissan in general in good resale standing.

Top 10 with best residual value in 2005

Altima and Camry ranked same for resale
Actually, this source is kind of fishy because TL/TSX only get 3 stars, where the Altima gets 4

2007 Altima predicted to have 5/5 resale value

These are just some of the first links I found by searching in google.

No our 2003 Altima. Nissan in general has a poor resale rating. Poorer out of all the japan made vehicles made. This has been known for many years. Only the 350z and G35 hold there value.

Our Altima was worth only 12k 1 year ago and it was a 2003 2.5SL Loaded with 29k of miles.

I see nothing about the Altima. :P I knew about the G35 and 350z but not the Alitma. As I said, the Altima has poor resale value.

On the topic of Altimas, I just drove a 2.5SL tonight. It's a very impressive car. The CVT will take a little getting used to, but it was quite a bit faster than the Legacy 2.5 that we took out right after the Altima. We're going back on the weekend to drive a 3.5SE and I assume it will probably be faster than the Legacy 2.5 GT.

It does not SAY anywhere "ALTIMA" for RESALE VALUE. Residue yes for 2005. But Dan's info shows it not listed period. I just looked again. Plus the % on that 2nd site link is wrong that Dan posted. I posted it straight from Nissans website the sales figures and they are only up 8-9% in October not 30%~.

Only TWO-THREE cars have good resale value. M35/45, 350Z, G35.

Most of Nissan other cars have a crappy resale value due to rental fleets and sales.

That's weird. When I drove both, I felt that the Legacy was significantly faster than the Altima. Just my

I would have thought so too, but we drove them back-to-back and it was quite noticeable. The Legacy did have a better suspension and more direct steering feel though.

Did you drive the new Altima?

Actually I believe I drove the 2006 one. Is there a difference between the 06's and the 07's?

It's completely redesigned for 2007. The inline four still makes 175hp/180lb-ft but the V6 is up to 270hp/258lb-ft (from 250/249 in 2006). I think the CVT will show a little quicker acceleration than last year's 4AT.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to go test drive one. Sounds interesting.

Do you have a point, or would you just like to continue the personal attacks so you can be banned?

I think this thread should be locked... who really cares... if you want to get Altima - get Altima, if you like TSX - get TSX.

Personally I am happy that Altima/Nissan sales are up that means that we'll see less of other cars on the road and specifically TSX. I like standing out with my car and getting the car that has the highest sales numbers is not for me.

The ride is not on par with the performance. When I was looking at those before purchasing the TSX, I had some issues with the ride and handling. Coming from a 330CI SMG, the TSX was the closest in handling and ride quality. The altima is still very unrefined for those looking for sport handling and lux feel, should bump up to the G35 or look elsewhere IMO. The interior feels cheap compared to TXS's.

The other thing (strickly just me) with is those cars are freaking everywhere, its Nissans top selling car for like 10 years now, we have about 10 in our parking lot at work here, I wonder how they tell them apart sometimes

Quick Reply: 06/07 TSX Vs 07 Altima
