Smile Which Top Engine Cleaner Have You Used?

Which engine cleaner do you guys prefer or which route did you go to clean out sludge build-up. Also does anyone else have the ticking sound coming from the engine from either side(sounds like valves ticking)? If yes, how did you fix that? The only thing I've used so far is Engine Restorer but thats only for potential seal leaks and such. I noticed using synthetic really burned away oil and caused a small leak from opposite side of oil drain plug. Anyone familiar with any of this thanx in advance for the feedback.

Simple Green and some water work wonders. After you do that once, just periodic maintenance with a damp rag should do you just fine!

I misread your post.

For this, I highly recommend Sea Foam.

You can do the PCV valve but after words, I would get a new valve. They are like $5.

Also, if you put the Sea Foam in the gas tank, I'd recommend changing out your spark plugs.

Putting seafoam in the gastank will only clean the injectors, valves, and piston tops. To get the intake, it needs to go into the pcv hose.

I was wondering the same, and if it does any harm to the oxygen sensors?

No, it won't harm it, if you are really dirty tho it wont hurt to change your plugs when you are done. When doing it into a vacuum line make sure you do it slowly, I didn't and it seemed like half my intake manifold was way cleaner than the other side when I took it out to give it a proper cleaning.

Besides taking everything apart, SeaFoam used to work pretty well. The current formula is weird, though. It even smells a little different, never mind the colour change.

EGR pipe cleaning should only be removal, brake parts cleaner, and a stiff pipe cleaner. Use a coat hanger and some steel wool alongside the brake parts cleaner if you can't find a pipe cleaner strong enough.

~Cheers~
