I have a 1998 2.5 tl today the car would not start i checked the battery it's ok checked the fuse box the 20 amp fuse for the ecu is blown i replaced it and it blew again.
The car dose not attempt to start you dont hear the starter at all but the dash lights and everything else works.
Dose anyone have any ideas?

Do you hear dead silence when you attempt to engage the starter? If yes, then you need to check whether the starter solenoid is receiving power to command the starter. It's a small wire to the solenoid which should supply 12V when keyswitch is turned to START. If no power, then you have a keyswitch problem probably reqiuiring a new keyswitch assembly.

If you do have power, then starter solenoid is bad, since there is no movement when voltage is applied. Solenoid should noisly slam the contacts together to engage the starter.

If you do hear the solenoid throwing, but starter doesn't engage and turn engine over, the solenoid contacts are worn and require replacement or a new starter.

good luck
