my TL is nearing 200K.... when should i change my timming belt?

 

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please befor it goes out and bends the shit out of your valves. Actually? wen was it changed last? If you are not sure then I would get it done ASAP because when it goes out on these cars you are phucked. You will pretty much need to doan entire Valve job

 

You should do it every 100,000 miles

 

Actually at 105K miles. Personally, I did mine at 107K, and that thing looked like it was near new. Was very surprised. Flexed it inside out, checked for cracks, and there were none.

I will say that I was worrying about it, and feel better now. I'd change the water pump if it has never been changed.

 

Yes, technically every 105,000 miles according to the manual.. it was just easier to remember.

And yes the water pump is a must.

 

Well we bought the car in 2000 used... so I don't know if it has ever been changed.... Do you know how much it costs to fix? Do you recommend going to a dealer or changed by another garage?
