Replaced second radiator, still leaking...

So i replaced the radiator about six weeks ago and noticed that the radiator was leaking from the bottom seam... pressure testing it confirmed...

so i ordered a new one again and just installed the new one tonight... went for a road test, came back and found more coolant drops at the bottom of the radiator again.. all hoses are good and double checked...

do i have a pressure problem? BHG? i checked and i don't have milky oil or bouncing idle... the car has never overheated in its life...

Well it can't be the radiator since it is the second one so the chances of 2 being bad IMO is not the case.

Also they are good quality because from some of the things Art and Ken say, they would not put poor quality anything in their cars.

I would look into the pressure issue.

Possible. To check for blown head gasket you can use the tail pipe emissions probe to the radiator neck too to check for any HC particles present in there.. Hope for the best..

If there are drips, it means something is bad. BHG doesn't make it leak. are you sure it's not just left over coolant from when you changed it out? I remember my top radiator hose was leaking where it met the waterpipe after I replaced my radiator.

it is possible but i am sure i checked all hoses for the leak... i sure hope that maybe it is leftover from when i was burping the system... ill get a new rad cap just in case, when i was looking at the cap, one of the washers wasn't seated properly, but i stuck it back onto the cap then put the cap on the radiator...

The only other place thats around there it would leak from is the oil cooler/ waterpump outlet hoses. If those aren't it, it would be your waterpump leaking.

thanks Ken... i replaced a few of the clamps for the hoses to and from the IACV and the upper radiator hose... the oem clamps suck... so far pretty bone dry... ill monitor for a month to check for any leaks that develop...

i do seem to have a gooey leak tho... im not sure if it is the gasket on the oil pan... but the residue is caked on and dark... so im thinking oil rather than antifreeze...

im also getting this click on the driver front side when im stopping and starting to move... im guessing upper ball joint on the control arm... i replaced pass side 2 yrs ago but didn't do drivers...

blahhh that plus rear shocks is going to be another couple hundred bucks...

The gooey stuff is from the Cam angle sensor, its normal and it drips down to the oil pan, but doesn't affect operation. I'd check the brakes for the clicking before suspension components, and if anything check the axle. Mine does it on both sides I think, but I've been too lazy to figure it out. For the rear shock, KYB makes a replacement. I just picked up two rears from ebay for $141 shipped.

the goo is starting to annoy my OCD... i believe you that it is normal, but any way to stop it? or not worth the hassle? im assuming it is oil?

got the wheels in the air yesterday... it is the upper ball joint, so ill have UCA on the way... picked up the KYB for the rear too... ill change the pass side shock first as that side is known to blow more often, and the driver side was just done two yrs ago... man this car, $300 bucks close to done...

The dark hard goo is potting compound that encapsulates the camshaft position sensor. It apparently melts at maximum operating temperature and runs a bit. I've seen same on my 2.5TL and traced it upwards. I initially thought oil, but its far too hard when cold.

good luck
