replace or repair windshield...
I got a crack about the size of a dollar bill on the bottom left side of my wind shield. Should i replace or repair, thing is next monday my son will be taking his driving test and i dont think the DMV will let him take it with that crack on the windshield..what should i do, i know that the oem windshield is best because of safety issues yet too pricey.

I would find out if it's acceptable or not. In TX, you can drive a cracked windshield as long as it doesn't obstruct vision. I've got cracks in a couple of mine at present. I don't like cracks, but you can replace and get a rock hit the first time you drive, so I tend to drive until it gets terrible.

i wouldnt fix it . my car has about 5 crakcs on the front windshield all the size of a quarter that is webbing already . i heard that fixed windshields run out fast and will break after a short while . im pretty sure if the crakc isnt major and isnt in the center of the windshield and you can see fine then the dmv will let it ride . im waiting for my windshield to crakc to where it messes with me seeing the road then im going to buy a new windshield

OEM windshields lol . my bros legends windshield was busted and paid 150 for a windshield from safelite . they come to your house and do all the work, i just sat there and smoked a cigarette and talked to him

I would just leave it. I'd rather rock a slightly cracked windshield than have some incompetent moron stick one on and then run into leaks in the future corroding the car from the inside out.

i got one from safelite for $200+ which chipped then cracked immediately. lived with it for years until it spread into my line of sight. went to another shop and got PPG glass for under $200 out the door. its got one chip now but no cracks.
the dealer wanted $600 for new glass, just go to a shop and ask for PPG glass, avoid plinkerton glass.
