Problems
I have a friend who has a Tl 3.2 and when he turns on his lights the dash lights, interior lights, power windows don't work. tried replacing fuse, every time he puts a new one in its blows. Any suggestions?
One of the systems not working has a short or the dimmer control has a short.
If you measure system resistance w/ fuse removed at the fuse contacts, you should see a very low resistance (short). Then begin disconnecting the systems to find out which one is causing the short. Note, a bulb in a socket will only have a few ohms resistance so a sensitive VOM is necessary to distinguish between normal low resistance and full short.
Another way to do this w/o a VOM is to disconnect all the systems on the blowing fuse (wiring diagram necessary to know everthing and where it's located). Plug a new fuse in and turn keyswitch ON(it should not blow). Now begin sequentially reconnecting systems back to the circuit. When fuse blows you've found the problem device. Start w/ dimmer switch as this is most likely.
good luck
