I had a brake job done on my car about 7-8K miles ago, now brakes are squeaky at low speeds and when stopping sometimes make very little metal to metal rubbing noise. Today I was on my way to work, a civic started messing with me. Next light turned red and I put my foot on brakes (I was at 80MPH) Pedal felt like a rock under my foot, very stiff and very long stop, went almost into intersection. It happened only once, was fine for rest of the day. But rubbing and squeaky noise still there and was there before that "race"

Pads are fine.
Rotors look/feel good, no uneven wear.
Brake fluid is at max level.

Any input/help is appreciated.

 

brake booster? If it feels sometime like the pedal of the car when the car is off, that's probably your culprit.
