Question Possible Trans Problem

Hi everyone

I have 98 2.5 AT with abt 17k miles.

My TL has no power in low speeds up to 30~40 m/h. Also in the cold morning, gear change is very not smooth...I feel the shock very strongly and it doesnt change until very high rpm(over 3000) even if I easily step on the gas.

Do you know how to resolve this???

Any opinons will be appreciated it.

Thanks

Is D4 light and/or Check Engine light flashing? If yes, get the code (Pnnnn)and post for help. A failed speed sensor can cause hard 1-2 shift, but will set a trans and ECU code.

Make sure trans fluid is clean and full. If over 5yrs/50K a change should be considered.

Mileage is extremely low for a 98 TL. Has it been stored for some time?

good luck

17K? Are you serious?
Like Texas mentioned, it had to be kept parked for a long period of time.
it was driven an average of 125 miles per month or 1500 miles a year.
