Oil Underneath spark plugs

I removed my spark plugs and found that the tubes were flooded with engine oil.

I already replaced the valve cover gasket and the spark plug tube seals to attempt to fix this problem... no dice.

What's leaking now?

^ no its not hard to do, i would spend the extra money and get the set with the new spark plug gaskets also. i beleive my set was around $60-80. do while the engine is cold, make sure to keep everything out of engine (dont accidentally drop a nut it there!!) are you leaking oil from the valve cover?

nope i think it might just be the spark plug gasket, but i could be wrong. Is there a way to find out where it is really leaking from?

^ i cant really tell without seeing the engine, but if you do decide to replace the gasket just do the whole deal so all will be new. the last thing you want is to cut corners and have another gasket in the same area go because you overlooked it the 1st time. its just time consuming grab a beer and just be careful.

if theres oil under the plugs theres always the possibility your getting oil inside your cylinders (head gasket)

spark plug tube seals are bad or installed wrong. Take it back apart, clean it better, and add a small dab of hondabond on them wherever your leak is located.. There is NO other way oil can get into the spark plug hole..

If you are saying you pull the plug out and its covered in oil like where the electrode is, then you're fucked with like a broken ring land or chewed up piston, but i doubt thats what you mean.

if you got some autozone gasket set, thats where your problem lies. ONLY BUY OEM HONDA gaskets.

Hell if its a 2.5, id just junk all that shit and put a 3.2 motor right into it. prob the same cost these days. NO demand on that stuff at all.

yeh i'm about to get back my old 96 2.5tl and the trans is shot. i'm debating what i'm going to do with it. I wanted it for my wife so she doesn't have to drive the Jeep Cherokee for work anymore.

I've debated, is the vigor 2.5 is the same engine/transmission and can be swapped in just change sensors etc? I dont see many UA2 96+ 2.5 motors or transmissions for sale but see a few vigor 2.5 low mileage units from japan for sale.

Or from a pm from Inspired[RUS] about his 5spd vigor swap
"I took my 5 m\t with all stuff (like pedals, clutch, fittings, tubes and so on) from honda vigor, most difficult was to install a clutch pedal. Acutally it was only a problem. 5 m\t has the same "bell" (sorry, can't remember right definition) fits exectly as A\T, and only 2 rear engine mounting pads need to be replaced to M\T ones. Of course there are some nuances with electrical part (like ground wire to A\T selector, connecting rear moving lights), center console (AT Selector gap is not big enough) and dashboard, but its not difficult at all."

So if I can find a suitable car for my wife, I plan to redo the 2.5 with 5spd swap and maybe...turbo??
