Oil leak.

I had oil leaking onto the passenger side exhaust. I replaced the valve cover gaskets, which will hopefully fix the problem, but I think there might also be a leak at the rear cup-shaped seal at the end of the camshaft. I did not replace that seal because I am unsure about what is involded. The service manual isn't clear, and I didn't want to remove the rear camshaft bearing cover without knowing more details.
Has anyone done this work?
BTW. '98 3.2TL. 267K miles. 24MPG. still does a 100 easilly. Good accelaration. All this after seizing the motor last year. Burns some oil, but not excessive.

It appears the rear camshaft seal is a rubber cap that is pressed in. It says to replace if it leaks. I have a diagram from emanual that was posted here some time ago and removed. If you want the diagram, PM your email address to me and I'll forward.

Is the camshaft end accessible on 3.2TL?

good luck

rocker arms have to be removed in order to replace the cam end cap.
