Your car loses speed right away after letting go the gas pedal tells me that your brakes are dragging. You might want to check the calipers out ASAP. What model car do you have?

Huh, I have the same problem with my car. But mine acts like it's not downshifting properly because it jerks to shift down to 2nd or 1st gear.

Drive the car for about 20 minutes and then see if the rotors get hotter than normal. If they are, then that is a sign of seized calipers.

Shoot your calipers are sticking, you have seized slider pins! Go get them checked out now!

i would find another car to work in . rear brakes are much more of a hassle to mess around with and i bet they will charge more for labor

if its not your brakes and you fix that and u still have the same problem its going to be your wheel bearing.. Yeah i had the same problem what i did was i lifted my front end and took of both tires. then i put in drive with out the tires and i started to listen were the noise was comeing from and yeah it wasnt the caliper it was the bearing. BTW i replaced it ASAP..
