My 97 TL won't start. I drove it to do a couple things this morning and it sounded fine, no noises at all. Then I go to start it up about noon and nothing. Car won't start in Park of Neutral. All dash lights are on and battery tests at 12.5 volts. Fuses are all good too. I turn it to III and nothing, not even a click. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

This happen to me a few months ago it was my Main Relay, but cost me a few hundred buck for a $60-75 part. I thought it was my fuel pump. That relay control the fuel pump

So the main relay can cause the starter not to engage? I thought the starter was on its own and only affected by it's fuse, battery and solenoid.

 

OK. Figured it out. The connector for the main relay was loose. Thank you blueninja for the idea of the main relay. Would never have thought to look for it.
