New to forum. New some help with a CEL
Greetings,
I am new to the forum, however I have been a long time Honda/Acura owner. I have owned two Honda civics, one Honda Delsol, a 98 Acura ITR, and now a TL. I currently own a 98 2.5TL and today for the first time the check engine light came on. The car has 105K and is up to date on all the maintenance. I don't own a HELMS for the TL (stupid I know), and I would really appreciate if someone could help on the process to pull the CEL codes.
How do I go about checking for the CEL codes? Thanks in advance for any help!

go to ur local autozone - show them the socket and they will pull the code for free.

Codes can also be self-extracted by shorting the service check connector (blue 2 wire connector) under the glove box. Turn key ON and CEL will flash the codes. Long flashes for 10s-digit, short pause, and short flashes for units digit. Multiple codes are separated by a long (5-sec) pause.
A shop manual is your best investment to prevent inadvertent damage when you're performing a DIY repair. Helm manual is best by far, w/ a Haynes the next best, IMO.
good luck

*Update*
Turns out CEL is for a problem with the 02 sensor (thank goodness). Should be a quick and inexpensive fix.
You guys think it would be covered by the emissions warranty? What is the best way going about getting Acura to stepup and cover this?

Or, quite honestly, call your local dealer, and they should be able to help.
