hey guys. i have a ? do these motors have vin numbers on them that match the car? i need to know if the motor has officially been change

 

There are 4 digit number on the engine.
This question has been asked here and no one really knows how to match that with vin.

 

I'm pretty sure manufacturers have that information, but no one else.

I went through some fairly intensive investigations to determine if a used engine I wanted to purchase came from truck vin I was given, but was never able to verify.

You might be able to get some info on engine serial number vs. manufacture date (car door jamb sticker), but even here I don't know where such info might be found. Only possible source would be other vehicles w/ both pieces of info.

the police and a few other sources can look up your engine serial and match it to your car's VIN. thats how they track those stolen motors.
