Thank you for this thread. I actually used a cheapo OEM "Equivalent" from ikeyless.com . I think I paid $20 shipped for a keyless remote but it looks awesome and it actually worked with these instructions. I guess what I was doing wrong was, I didn't actually hold the Master "Unlock/Lock" switch up the hole time lol. But thank you none the less.

Hi I just find this page. It is very helpful for me. I like to buy a keyless remote entry for my 96 acura 3.2 TL.
1. I have searched the internet for a while. there are some salers on ebay. I found most of them got some bad reputation. may any of u tell me who is the good saler that u bought from him/her and the remote is in good price, quality, and service? how much did u pay for it?
2. i read one page from one lady on other forum complained that her remote from keyles ride is working but working distance is only 3 to 4 feet. Can i know the working distance and status for your current remote?
3. Is it ok to buy a used remote in stead of buying a aftermarket product?
i am sorry to ask so many questions.
thanks

I finally got mine working - 1998 3.2TL Premium. I ordered the remote from www.keylessride.com - $81 shipped. I couldn't get it to program at first and was beginning to think I didn't have a keyless module. However, here is what I found: the Step #3 above must be completed VERY, VERY quickly. At first, I did the insert-remove-5-times thing quickly but not really rushing or anything. Probably did it in 3-4 seconds. Wasn't going into programming mode. I had to go all Jet-Li on that mofo - in and out 5 times in about 2 seconds, and bingo. Anyone having trouble getting into programming mode may want to try that.
I have the actual instructions copied straight from the dealer and the keyless would not enter programming mode. Under 10 seconds must be a misprint because you really do have to do it in about 2.
As soon as I did it that way though...zip zip zip zip zip "TCHACK" said the locks.
Thank you very much!

Stupid question
Is the remote just a lock/unlock remote, or is it the one with trunk release and panic buttons also? Bought the car with no remote, seeing both options online and I want to get the right one. None of the links on this thread are active anymore to see the pictures of the remotes.
