Well sorry for making a new post for something that is already been brought up but again like i have read on this site my car starts up but now i must use the shift lock release to move it out of park i can never apply the brake to shift and now i sometimes have to start it in nuetral i dont know if someone has the exact same problem as me but if you do can you tell me the exact part or even if it doesnt relate to the ignition but i looked at parts from 50$-300$ and i want to fix it asap is it a diy job any information helps Thanks

 

I'd test the switch by the brake pedal to make sure it works and if necessary, replace it (like I did).
