TexasHonda said in another thread that one start pause is for "system" ready-then as he put it: ffff p f = 41, so thats how i counted the pauses + flashes. Not sure yet..

Earlier models 95-96 used the all short flashes code. I probably read wrong section of manual in my earlier post on the ABS lights. I only recently discovered there were two ABS sections in my manual. So far I haven't had any ABS problems w/ my 97 2.5TL.

This code is same as my 97 2.5TL. What vehicle?

I interpreted three codes; 1-7, 1-8, and 8-1.

1-7 and 1-8 are LR wheel sensor faults. Check sensor for connector damage, wire damage, grease on the rotor lugs underneath the sensor, and/or grease on the sensor. Check sensor resistance to be w/i 550-850 ohms.

8-1 is CPU. This could be a false code. I would see if you can find any faults w/ rear wheel sensor, reset ABS controller and see if code returns. If code returns a new ABS controller is needed.

good luck

i have a 3.2; can i remove the wheel and have good access to sensor or is a mechanic called for?

is this:

6 57110-SW5-J11 MODULATOR ASSY. 1 1998 TL 1112.07 856.29
(http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/acura/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=TL&catcgry2=1 998&catcgry3=4DR+BAS3.2&catcgry4=KA4AT&catcgry5=AB S+MODULATOR+(+97-98)&ListAll=All&vinsrch=no&systemcomp=&vinnoT=&tri m=&trans=&view=normal)

..what you call the "ABS controller"? could it also be responsible for my seperate issue of hearing a click every time the gas pedal is pressed?

I found the Left rear ABS sensor, no.41 and i dont think i can find a better price w/out having to cut wires; a possible DIY?:

Used ABS Controller

No, the parts you located are the ABS modulator assy. ABS Contoller is under the dashboard. Car-part.com will locate a used ABS controller near you.

Yes, the clicking is likely a power relay in the ABS system.

Replacing the wheel sensor is dead simple. Pull a few bolts and disconnect electrical connector. Plug in new and bolt in place. Did you check resistance of sensor.

good luck

Ohms spec is in my original post. Once code is for sensor fault (short/open) and other is for noisy signal.

good luck
