I just replaced my spark plugs and ignition wires. Just today, I noticed my car dies on a slope or when I get out of the REVERSE gear. After i shift it out of Reverse and into D4, my engine dies.

Also my car was already on D4 and was on a slope waiting to get out onto a main road, after waiting for awhile, the car dies on its own. I put it back in park to restart and it starts right up. The radio and light still works and I have not taken off my terminal battery so I know its not loose. I did however cleaned off the dry foam thingy on the terminals using a brush but thats about it.

What could be the problem? one of my ignition wire was a short so im thinking either the man gave me the wrong ignition wire for my 2.5 or i put it on wrong but im sure i put it on right. the short wire is the only one that does not go into a spark plug. it goes into some big round plug in front of my car battery. Could this be the problem?

 

Do you have a check engine light on? Make sure the plugs are gapped properly, too.

yeah the check engine light is on. it came on when i heard my engine "whine" as i accelerate. i think its a belt..or need to change oxygen sensor. im POS is falling apart.

 

Is your charging indicator on? Damn, if only you were closer, I could help you diagnose it!
