Different stereo removal tips
Ive seached around and Im getting mixed information.
I would like to remove my stereo.
One says to remove the wood trim and its only 4 bolt/screws.
The other says I need to peel back the carpet and remove a coupla badly placed screws.
WHats the truth?
Ill remove if I can do it in a hour or so, but if I have to spend all day Ill just forget it.
So is it just the wood trim and 4 screws?? or do I need to tear apart the car?
thanks
BTW The Ipod with FM transmitter doesnt sound that shit hot...

I don't know if you can really get it out by pulling back the carpter, I've never tried, but I hear you can at least get the radio code that way.
I did the writeup with pulling off the trim, I do it all the time now, can pull my screen out in less than 5 minutes, but it should take you less than an hour easily, maybe 15 minutes the first time.

Yep.. wood trim and the four screws ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Easy for the owner and hopefully not too easy for a thief.

Yup, that's all.
When you take the wood trim off, behind the climate control there are two wire connections you have to undo, but they are pretty easy to get to, there are 3 or 4 tabs above the glovebox, two below the radio, and one between the radio and temp sensor, i think i took a pic of where they all were..

...and this thread will self-destruct in 5...4...3...2...1
Haha...in addition to UnsanePyro's thread on removing the radio, I have posted a thread on adding in an Aux-In for my iPod. Check that thread out.
