Dent removal

I've got a few dents in my car. Most of them are hail dents. Are there tested and proven ways to do it yourself?

I've seen on youtube:
"pop-a-dent" (which I think would just tear off paint)
popcorn (which I think was a joke)
heatgun and compressed air (which kind of made sense)
and just poking them from behind when possible (not so easy on the roof).

Any thoughts? Have any of you done your own dent removal?

1. Pop a dent will crack the paint and might ruin it.

2. Popcorn. I doubt that will work.

3. I tried that before and it doesn't work on plastic, it only works on metal. Also the dents have to be kinda big.

4. That works but you also need to push it out to the curves of the car so that you do not crack the paint.

What if you got the smaller dents uber-hot before cooling it directly in the middle?

It might work but smaller dents are the hardest to get out.

I would just have a body shop do it.

I'm going to try heating up the dent all around it and cooling the area around the dent to see if it pops out. ... After finals, of course. I'd like to see the look on my insurance agent's face when it comes back dentless XD.

He said "get a quote on the hail damage"

If it works, I'll post a video up on youtube and link it here :3

Is anyone here a bodyshop guy? Is that set any good... or a total waste of money?
