caliper troubles

caliper troubles

New acura owner and bought one that needed brakes not knowing its not as easy as the other vechiles. Ive been reading on here to get the caliper piston to go in one should turn and push at the same time right? What tool would do this? Im new to wrenchin too, im dumb but not stupid. any advice would help

There is a "disc brake caliper kit" that you could loan at autozone to turn the rear pistons back in. Open your brake fluid cap to make it easier as it will take some force to turn them. There is also a "cube" tool that some autoparts sells that does the same thing.

yes and only applies to rear brakes...

The cube thing sucks balls. Dont buy it!
A flat head screw driver should do the job! (For the rear only)

thanks for the advice. I went ahead and got the cude tool and it seemed to work just fine, but kind of difficult to use. Fronts are next on the list. Ive been reading that the front rotors should be pressed off and on....? Is this true? wouldn't tightening the lug nuts do the same thing to get them on?
