a.b.s. light...Electrical

my car is doing the weirdest thing when letting off the accelerater (only if it's down at least a quarter of the way and you let off the pedal quickly) the a.b.s. light comes on for a second, there is a click sound and the headunit turns off for a second or two. the brakes seem to work fine, although i have yet to slam on them to see if the ABS is working properly... anyone ever seen anything like this before and know if it might be an electrical problem or a brake problem it is a 96 2.5 has 111000 miles on it and i had a dead battery about 3 weeks ago, i had only had the old battery for two years and it died without me leaving a light on or something like that

any help would be appreciated

hey i had the same problem when I had ABS accumulator issues. my lights would turn off too..eventually one day my car didnt start i had to get battery replaced...it was ok after that. the ABS still makes it annoying 'accumulating' sound, but I dont have a ABS light anymore since replacing the accumulator. but at least the car doesnt do that clicking action anymore..hope it helps.

Clicking is from low power (electrical). My battery cable was loose the other day and the ABS light was on, with click...click...click... Then as I slowed to about 20-30MPH, I hear the usual, "Grrrrrrrnnnn" and the light goes off. Tightened the cable and the problem went away after a little spirited driving to get that alternator going. Just yesterday morning, I couldn't start my car because of that damned cable... Maybe I have to change it after all. Check the terminals for corrosion, etc., then post back how you got on.

~Cheers~
